Hi - my husband and I are travelling across Canada (east to west) and will be in the Vancouver area next week. We are staying with family on Bowan Island for a couple of days and we don't want to take our 30 foot Rv on the ferry. Can anyone suggest a place where we may be able to store our rig securely for those couple of days?

After that we are picking up the Rv and ferrying to Vancouver Island for a week or so. Then leaving Canada via the Black Ball ferry to Port Angeles.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try calling campgrounds in the area, some let you store the RV at reasonable rates.

There are nor really any campgrounds close by. Looking at the ferry rates it will cost you about $70 return to take your MH across. If you can park with relatives it might be cheaper and more convenient to take it with you.

Hi Barb and Dave....I think the best thing to do would be to leave your rig at a Camp Ground....Check out RV Park reviews for a list of parks close by. You will be taking a ferry from West Vancouver which is the horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. You will be coming into the city likely via Hwy 1 so look for something outside the city if you are heading straight to Bowen Isl. Fort Langley, BC Campground Reviews - Best of Fort Langley Camping - RV Park Reviews This one is outside the city (about an hour). Traffic during peak hours is really tough. Most of the other CG are not to great. The Langley CG will let you make your way easier to the Ferry for Vancouver Island. You will be taking a Ferry from Tsawwassen to Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal). It will be tough getting around pulling your rig if you try to stay too close to the city, there is no highway thru Vancouver proper and its pretty easy to loose you way. When you on the Island there are decent CG in the Victoria area. Your taking the Black Ball which is in the centre of the city, near the Parliament Bldgs. We've taken it once with our 37' 5th wheel. If I had a choice I would take the Washington State Ferry out of Sidney. Easier access and a little bit cheaper. Well what ever you do .... have a great trip. Not to scare you, but a couple off tourists on their way to Alaska had their trailer stolen. One family found their trailer driving down the highway. If I can give you any more info send me a pm. There is a campground very close to the Tsawwassen to Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal)
We wish we had known about it when visiting the area. Easy for the airport, South and West area of Vancouver
It would be easy to get to from travelling from the East.
It may prove a little difficult the days you need to get to and from the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal.
No idea what the campground is like but you won't be staying for the park's amenities.

You may want to consider taking the Sidney ferry to Anacortes. This ferry goes thru the Gulf Islands and is very nice. It will land you on the mainland.
Reservation is $80 but they apply it to the ferry fare not like B.C. Ferry.

The Anacortes terminal is near a casino for a free stay for the night and a short run east to the I-5.

P.S. the ferry fare , if I remember is only $ 158.
