I need to stop where I can get services that I need. All the good extended stays are booked and I’m on several waiting lists. In the meantime I’ll just jump from spot to spot all within a 10 mile radius.

That’s my guess also. In the beginning I didn’t know. Still I need to be careful not to spread my cold.

I think many of us will be more careful about spreading our illness by staying home or masking up when out if we have to be .
I also think it’s important to remember cold sniffles flue etc are still out there and it’s more probable that’s what you have come down with. Getting tested is the best way to have peace of mind.

Curious as to your reasoning of not wearing a mask. Sounds like you won't be wearing a mask after this clears up. Whatever you have could have been prevented and also prevented you from transferring it to someone else. Next time you may not be so lucky if, indeed, you don't have Covid.

Here are the symptoms of Covid. You had sore throat, runny nose, fever.... which are on the list.

I developed a very severe cough about 3 weeks ago the day (a Monday) I was supposed to see my asthma specialist. We did a telehealth visit instead. Only issue was she could not actually listen to my lungs. So she Putin an order for a lung X-ray and said for me to see my PCP, who promptly told me to get tested for Covid. I did and got the results at 3AM on Thursday via text message. I saw my PCP later that day, I also got my lungs xrayed. That 4 day delay allowed my cough to morph into the cold from hades. I also stayed home, my RV, during that time. I also gave it to my husband, hard not to, in such cramped quarters.

I am just now recovering. When I have a cough, they tend to linger forever. Pre cold, I was wearing a mask everywhere, and still doing so. It bothers me that in spite of masking, social distancing and other precautions, I still caught the cold virus. Thankfully it wasn’t Covid. And yes, I’ve had all three shots.

Exactly, pre Covid, my PCP would have seen me the first day if my cough with no thought. I would not have had to “marinate” for 4 days. But on the other hand, those 4 days did give me time to gave the rest of my symptoms to appear.

I’m feeling much better and don’t see any reason for this thread to continue. If a mod closed it I wouldn’t be offended.

Glad you're feeling better!

Imo, whether it was covid or not, you being respectful to others by staying low and taking the precautions you did were the proper things to do.

I understand your concern. I have found however every time I start to feel a little ill the thought come “is it Covid “ I started a feeling ill a couple days ago. My first thought went there. Something pre COVID never would have come to mind. As soon as my nose turn into a dripping faucet I was pretty sure that it was not COVID.

I winter in a park in Mexico. It’s a little harder to get a COVID test here. Back home in Minnesota I would drive to the mobile testing site, get a test and have an answer quickly.

But in reality, even though I’m sure it is not COVID I follow the same courtesy protocol. Of course here we all know each other so if I am sick, I stay away from others, ask for help if I need it and friends bring soup. Just like always.

This thing has been rapidly evolving and I hear now they are talking about free home testing kits. Thinking backwards, might not have been a bad idea to bring a couple along.

As others said, check for local testing sites if you have a real concern and even if it isn’t the right thing to do is stay as clear as possible, follow the protocol. Even just a cold or flue, a mask helps prevent spread.

The good news is, all of the precautions we take because we MAY have COVID will also reduce the spread of colds and the regular old flu, and probably a multitude of other contagious diseases.

I know the powers that be were scared the flu season would be much worse this year than last because some of the precautions were not being followed as closely this year.

I came from a state that mandated a mask and 99% did so. Now that I’m RVing in AZ most people don’t. It’s a risk I have to take to stay warm and dry. My home was in the Seattle area.

These are my observations and reality of living in an RV full time. I have no opinion on whether you should or should not wear a mask.

In the meantime I’m feeling better and better.
