A Plea to Canadians returning home

I would like to ask all Canadians returning home to be responsible and self isolate. News from this past weekend show numerous RV's parked at an Ontario Walmart after crossing the border and then the occupants going into the store to shop. This is not acceptable. Don't be the person spreading this illness. Pass the message on to your friends. Everyone should be acting as if they could be infected.
Thank you

What are they supposed to eat if they can’t go shopping?

I assume they had food in their rv already. If not, Walmart has online shopping. They could flag down someone in the parking lot. Lots of options. The store had actually put flyers on their windshields with information on how to get items without going into the store. When they get home, call a friend, a relative, community services. Just stay home.

I would be more concerned about the selfish young idiots returning from spring break party central. We all know they will do the opposite of what they are told.

No grocery shopping no visiting aunt Lucy at the old folks home , no stop at the liquor store , Just straight home !

BTW: I arrived home at 6:30 Saturday afternoon , and before I could park the coach in the yard three neighbours yelled over to offer anything we needed and to run for groceries if necessary .
It's great to live in a small town
Day three in isolation, wish it was warm enough to wash the coach, or even work inside the garage; when this is over, insulation and heaters in the garage are the summer project.

Why are you singling out Canadians? I'm sure there are many US citizens returning to their homes as well.

If everyone follows the proper procedures I don't see the problem. They all have to stop somewhere.

I am singling out Canadians, because I am Canadian and we have had very clear instructions from our government on our actions after returning home. All Americans returning from their winter homes should also be thinking of self isolating. The proper procedures are to stay home, get someone else to shop for you or have delivery.

I think that's the point of the post--proper procedures are not being followed.

Most Walmart’s have delivery dates a week out. They are so slammed that online shopping even for pickup is woefully behind.

Yours is an interesting post. We have been self-isolating in our home in Florida for 11 days. If I decide to drive our motor home to our property in Michigan, do I need to self-quaratine there, as well? Our plan is to make no stops except for gas, never entering the store and self-registering at any campground along the way. We are completely asymptomatic.

Your thoughts?

I am always amazed at folks that think options available to them are available to everyone.

Make sure whoever fuels up, to use gloves. And then go inside your rig to wash hands.

You may be fine but it’s possible you could still infect someone else. I’d self isolate once home as much as possible. A run to the grocery store may have to happen.

If you are going to wash your hands, why do you need gloves?

I wouldn't say that.

I know 4 couples who have recently returned from So Cal, or AZ in the last few days, and they are all self isolating !
