Boondocking does make it easy.

If in Arizona visitors don't have to return home for their vaccinations:

My wife and I have been full timing since 2018 and this past winter we were work camping in Florida. We left as usual at the end of April to go to a campground in NH near our kids. We winterized the RV and are going to stay with my oldest son and his family for this winter and move back into the RV in May and then see what happens.

We are most likely over reacting, but we dropped our long trips until covid improves. Our fear is being in nowhere and sick in a hospital, too far to drive home with the MH and not being to use the docs we trust.

We will do a bunch of local trips with in 200 miles of the house.
Just from personal experience - we did a Summer Family Trip this Summer (75 days) - then again this Fall (40 Days).

Yellowstone South to Taos, then Colorado, again, before returning Home through West Virginia, three weeks home before returning to see the Aspen in Colorado for a Month - Ran Up to Custer for a week - then back through West Virginia and home.

So Yes it is Doable and we are actually Waiting to be Invited to Florida, for another couple weeks.

Think about it for a Bit - You will be in a Perfect Isolation Vehicle/Home - We traveled almost a total of 20,000 miles this Summer/Fall (RV and Toad) - Safely - we ordered much of our supplies as we travel across the country by ordering from Wal*Mart - then spending the night there and picking up in the AM.

Easy - Safe - no Human Contact/interaction - we stayed in National Parks - RV Parks - all with little interaction - So for us the decision was Easy - Go - Enjoy - Not a Problem.

We basically have had Little interaction with other unless they have Isolated - Kids this Summer - they Isolated - We isolated then Met to travel - Play - RV - Tour - Just live life together - was the Best Summer EVER!

- - - Covid Served up Lemons - we Made Lemonade - - -

May not work for everyone but it Sure Worked For us - By wearing Masks and not interacting with others we have not even had a Sniffle - - -

Stay Smart - Work within your Limits - Avoid others - Use that Isolation Vehicle you have and enjoy the USA - Think about it - Your Bathroom everywhere - Your Kitchen - Your Bed. Sure make sense to me, and it has worked all Summer/Fall!

Best of Luck

We got in 75 nights under the stars this year, with the majority isolating ourselves and some trips not interacting with anyone at all. Not that bad because they were to parks that we go to offend and we have things we do with no outside interaction.

Far less travel then we planed in January. We are passing on our long winter trip 2020/21. We know we can isolate ourselves but part of our exploring the USA is visiting the small towns, meeting the people and visiting the area attractions.

But we started making reservations for Apr, May, June.

Now instead of changing any plans due to Covid I am not making any plans until we get our shots. It looks like we will not be traveling much again this year. I was hoping to take a long trip in late spring/early summer, but the odds are that our time to get the shots will be around that time.

We didn’t change any plans...just have been careful.

Left Spokane October 3rd, arrived Melbourne Beach October 30th. Did a couple of short trips to Lake Worth and the Keys.

Our return trip in April we’ll will take the northern route.

So far so good.

At Quartzsite, but not attending the RV show.

(Hearing too many "Ellen's got it now!" stories here.)

We've now got an Alaska cruise planned for June 2021 and we're waiting to hear if that's getting cancelled as well. We've done a fair amount of local camping, but no trips this year...
Alaska Newspaper January 8, 2021
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Holland America and Princess Cruises announced pauses on planned sailings in Alaska waters in response to health guidelines established since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The cruise operators said that trips scheduled to operate around Alaska have been postponed.
Princess canceled six Alaska trips scheduled through May 14. Holland America canceled sailings on three Alaska-bound ships through the first week of June and on three others through mid-May.
Carnival Cruise Line, which owns Princess and Holland America, announced Wednesday it was suspending all sailings until April 30.
Princess and Holland America said in statements that health rules imposed by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and “uncertainty around travel restrictions” prompted the cancellations.
The CDC issued a no-sail order last year at the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and lifted the order in October, issuing a conditional sailing order. The agency issued guidelines for companies that include a phased return of passengers.
Competing cruise lines have also pulled back. Celebrity Cruise Lines was expected to announce similar postponements, while Norwegian Cruise Line’s website said Thursday that the company suspended all sailings through March 2021.
Large ships bound for Alaska also must contend with Canadian restrictions when they are registered outside the United States. Federal law requires foreign-flagged ships sailing between two U.S. ports to stop at a foreign port.
For Alaska cruises, a Canadian stop satisfies the requirement, but regulating agency Transport Canada has banned all cruise ship traffic through March. A decision is expected soon on whether the ban will be extended.

We have not been able to arrange our schedules to take an Alaskan cruise, unless cruise lines have made a major change they don't usually start going to Alaska until late May.

I'm now in doubt about our plans to go to Canada this August. States are taking so long to get shots in arms, we will be lucky if they open their doors before 2022. It seems there will be another year delay on going.

Covid shut down a lot of campgrounds in April-May 2020 which did cause us to cancel several week-end camping.

When things opened up, we were gone almost every week-end, including 2 week trips. But we also stayed in Indiana as there were too many horror stories going around the rest of the country. Covid did not stop us from traveling outside Indiana, but other unsettling events occurring across the country did. We stayed in state where things "felt" safe.

Then we came up to December, when we were suppose to go to Hawaii for a week to visit my daughter and family over Christmas. Because of all the insane Covid reports we were hearing, we canceled Hawaii completely.

But for the entire month of January, we are now camped in Alabama.

So, in a way, Covid changed some of our plans, but also made opportunities for other plans.

Same for us. We cancelled a January Hawaii trip as they just recently changed the quarantine rules for the Island we were meeting the Family at.
I was able to adjust a few RV reservations, and heading to Yuma for two weeks early February then will swing through the South and Southwest until the end of March.

Hoping (Doubtful) that California is somewhat opened up on way back to finish the trip with a couple of days in Napa.

At this point it appears some States will be locked down into 2022 or longer. I don't plan on waiting that long, our plan is to get the same amount of nights on the road as usual, so we will spend our time and money visiting the States that are open.

Gonna be fun to get back on the road.

Well... I think that if we continue to use our infection control methods and protocols, RVing is not inherently unsafe. Camping need not be unsafe.

Wear your mask, maintain respectful distancing, keep up with the hand washing/sanitizing, don't spend extended time (what's today's number, 10 minutes?) in close proximity to people you don't live with. Get vaccinated if you are medically able.

And go RVing!

edit ps: a link to map with current-ish hospital utilization data.
