Yes they did let us in after they took our temperature and we had to complete a health questionnaire. They gave us surgical masks to wear and escorted us to her room.
Patti's mom knew she was there but did not communicate with us. She was resting peacefully and this morning we received a call that she passed away about an hour ago.

Frantz - Where did you stay in Grants Pass? Might be heading there beginning of April. Interested in your experience in GP at the moment. Del

For what it’s worth there are people you don’t even know that care and are thinking about you.

Thank you..... I did the best I could to get my wife home to see her before she passed. She knew we were there but couldn't speak but when my wife spoke to her there was a tear running down her cheek. I knew at that point she understood her daughter was there. Thank God she was peacefully taken.

We stayed at Rogue Valley Overniters :: Home Page It was surprisingly easy access with a nice level pull-through. Did disconnect the car in order to go across the street to the Wendy's drive through since I didn't want to cook after driving 3 long days. More traffic in Southern Oregon than I would have expected; maybe not now since there are growing numbers of cases in that area.
We fueled at Petro in Phoenix, OR using our TSD; no waiting, but if you stop, it's a loop around entrance off I-5. Last fuel stop was TA in Aurora, OR to top off the tank before sitting for 3 months in SE Portland while my DH takes over as Interim Director of Reed College Research Reactor. We're currently at Pheasant Ridge RV Resort, Wilsonville, OR, until tomorrow when our site in Portland will be ready.
All-in-all Yuma to Portland was pretty easy. This comes after taking the same route in 2018 when I swore I would never again drive on the west side of the Sierra Nevada through California.

Left Central FL for Denver Saturday morning and got in late Sunday night / Monday morning. Route was 75 - 24 - 57 - 64 - 70 1893 miles.
Other then some bad weather (mostly 30 and 40 mph xwinds) drive was completely uneventful. Went from FL to KY/IL state line and stayed at the welcome center over night, then pushed through to our house. Two long days but I wanted to get in before Monday, as new restrictions seem to start with the new week. We did not stop expect for fuel, and only I and dogs got out, kids and the my wife stayed in block to block.
Roads were mostly trucks and RV’s (less RV’s the more you moved west). The cars I did see that did not align with the state I was in at the time, all had east cost plates (lots and lots of NY), this continued all the way to CO.
From what we saw in FL before we left (we own land there that we use a campground) I would assume you need to bring anything you think you may need for at least the next 30 days even for a short drive. We are now in the second way of panic buying in some areas, I would not count on anything you may need being there.
On a side note, we had our alternator fail (after 178k miles) on this trip. I just bridged the house and chassis and moved on. But now that I am home I am finding “truck parts” are in short supply due to fleet operators speeding up maintenance and return. Most items seems to be a 2 or 3 week back order.

I'm glad you guys made it home safely during a very stressful few days on the road. Sorry to hear your MIL passed but it was good you made it home before it happened. Our prayers go out to you and your families.

I’ve had some similar experiences. You are a hero in my book. Even if you eschew such notions....

Leaving Yuma, AZ in 10 days to drive to Shipshewana, IN then Forest City, IA then Saratoga Springs, NY. Will take about a month to cover it staying at Walmarts and a couple private campgrounds. From reading here it sounds like I should have no problems as long as I stay away from people and use paper towels to get Diesel.

I’m saving my produce bags from grocery stores for the pumps. Easy, plentiful, and better barrier protection. Happy, safe, healthy travels!
