Hey Snowbirds! How full is your park this year due to COVID?
If you are currently in your winter home, can you tell us all how COVID has impacted our park's occupancy? Usually sold out but now 70% full? 80%? No noticable difference?
This will be my first winter as a retired person and I have hesitated making arrangements to leave MN due to the C19 surge and it's potential impact on multi-state shut downs. I had planned to head to the FL panhandle and move west every two weeks during Feb-April but have been frozen by indecision.
Thank you for your time to let us know if the "birds" are flying this year.

Since February we have been in a resort in Summerfield FL. The only impact so far has been on us, we decided to shelter in place instead of our planned travel. Through the summer we have pretty much had the place to ourselves but in the last few weeks travelers are filtering back in. I suspect we will be full by the first of the year.

FYI:
All California state campgrounds are closed now due to lockdown for at least until January by order of the state.
There is another thread on this, but refunds will be sent after an email comes, if you have current plans here.
Rose parade and game are virtual this year as well.

We’re spending time in NV and AZ, seems pretty normal. I think the open sites are because Canadians can’t boogie down here.

We spend the winter from the deserts of SoCal to Casa Granda AZ. We’re just at the beginning of the winter but haven’t seen a Canadian license plate yet. Last year at this point they were everywhere.
It’s my understanding that California is “shut down” but most private campgrounds are honoring previously confirmed reservations.
The social activities are mostly nonexistent.

Excellent question. I'm leaving for SW Arizona in five days, and I've been wondering if the California shutdown will drive tons of people over to where I'm headed. This could be a replay of my time this summer in Wyoming when the fires started popping up west of me and drove many RV's right towards me.

Manatee Hammock CG, Titusville Fl., 40% . Last year 90%
St. Lucie South, COE Park, near Stewart Fl., full every day for the 2 weeks there, only 9 sites.
Bahia Honda State park, middle Keys, full every day. Been here a week, lots of turnover.

Oddly, As I understand it, Canadians CAN come south, but its going to cost them. Canadians can FLY to anywhere in the U.S., they just cant drive over the boarder. There is an outfit in Toronto, that will put your camper/rig on a truck and ship it over the boarder, then they will give the owner a helicopter ride over the boarder, then you can go get your rig and your on your way. I suspect there will be some quarantine non-sense going on, but after that, TALLY-HO, you're on your way anywhere in the country
If you live near Toronto, its short hop to either Niagara Falls or Buffalo. And your good-to-go

I am not serious, but,,,,lol...
If you are a snowbird there are many reasons to stay out of So Cal.
The government doesn't want you here.
There is nothing open when you get here.
You will bring the virus with you.
You will spread it everywhere you go.
There will be a trail of dead bodies behind you.
You will fill the hospital ICU beds and we will be in lockdown forever.
When you head home you will re-infect your home town as they have lowered the numbers while you were gone.
Do you think I could get a job with the CDC or WHO? again lol.

We are in central Fl with a ownership /rental park. mostly everyone finally here except 0 Canadians who rent or own lots. There are none of them nor the few Europeans that own lots here. maybe 5-10% open spaces ? Dances party and large get togethers are not happening but otherwise life is kinda normal with many restaurants /business etc fully open. (with restrictions)

We're spending our 8th winter in Casa Grande. I'd say the Park is likely down 30-40% for this time of year - a large part of that is due to the Canadian border closure. Many people on this side of the border are holding off, waiting to see what happens. Lots of Park Models are for rent or sale.
Activities in the Park are limited in size (max gathering for Bingo is 50 people which follows state and city/county guidelines.) Most card games are still happening. Masks are required in any Park building.
Indoor dining is allowed (for now). I'd say 95%+ of people in stores are wearing masks.
Amazon Prime, FedEx and UPS are in the Park more than usual.

Canada has had 413,000 Covid-19 cases since March. We've had that in the last 2 days. I think if I was a Canadian I'd stay at home and be cold.
