I live in Pensacola, on I-10. There is a checkpoint at the inbound truck scales. It's a bizarre joke. There are approximately 20 police vehicles from the state, county, and the City of Pensacola at a minimum there with an equal number of officers milling around. Eastbound travelers are asked one question: "In the past fourteen days, have you visited New York, Connecticut, Rode Island (?), or Louisiana? Answer "No," and you are wished a good day and waved on. It's 100% ineffective and 100% politics, wasting thousands of taxpayer's dollars every day. I rolled through with an RV bearing a Louisiana inspection sticker and a Texas dealer tag, which should have raised suspicion that I had at least traveled through Louisiana (I had not), and I didn't even get a follow-up question. I expect the checkpoint on I-75 is the same. I've been through the same checkpoint in the same RV, after buying fuel in Alabama following a widespread power outage at diesel stations in northeast Pensacola) with the same exchange. Just give 'em a Nancy Reagan and "just say no."
