Im currently at Evergreen Park and RV Resort in Dundee Ohio. We got here a few weeks back. They let us stay because we had reservations made before March 2020 and we live full time in the coach. We had to sign a statement saying so. The crazy thing is we are the ONLY ones here.
Weve all been to crowded and empty campgrounds but this is almost surreal being here solo.
Its a wonderful park and we are grateful that we are able to stay here. Hopefully in a few days well get some neighbors and the owner of this resort can start to gain some income on their investment. They deserve it.

YAY!!! How appropriate our Governor allowed the campgrounds to be open for Memorial Day. I'm surprised he did it because we've been stuck in a plateau, not a decline. We didn't make reservations for that wknd (we leave holidays for the rookie campers), but we did make reservations for the following wknd at a nearby campground. I was SO afraid the whole Summer RV-ing season would be bust.

Dang, I've never known Evergreen to be empty, except for the day we snuck in shortly after it was built but before it actually opened. It's a top notch campground.

If you did not see the TV conference when he was first asked about camping, he replied that he and his wife have camped all over the country and he thought campgrounds could be opened safely. So even if Governor DeWine did not exert any influence on the group coming up with the recommendations those folks certainly knew where he stood.

I've seen all his TV conferences & have agreed w/him from the start. He's been being cautious & has wanted to see a decline (vs a plateau) in reported cases. Self-contained RV's where one is in their own environment, one doesn't have to socialize (except for a masked greeting wave) if they don't want or use public facilities certainly can enjoy our state's campgrounds without exposing or being exposed to the virus. Unlike many commercial parks, where sites are crammed in awning to slideout, many of our state parks have generous spacing between sites.

I'm concerned mostly about the public spaces being opened (bath houses, laundries, game rooms, pools). Even with the mandatory safety practices outlined, I'm not all that confident parks will follow those on a consistent basis. I feel those areas open will cause spikes & hot spots to flair up. Ever more glad I'm self-contained & don't have to go anywhere near them.

I'm excited, though, to have our state parks opened. I hope people will abide by guidelines & it goes well. We don't have to close down again. That would be really bad.
