Entry Checkpoints to Begin for Florida Keys

Monroe County Emergency Management States:

Concerned about limiting exposure to coronavirus, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating the implementation of southbound traffic stops at mile marker 112.5 on the Florida Keys Overseas Highway, and on State Road 905 (Card Sound Road), to restrict access to the Florida Keys and to reinforce the island chain’s closure to visitors and non-residents.

The stations are to begin operations by no later than early Friday. Only residents, property owners, and those actively involved in work in the Florida Keys will be admitted, including fuel tankers, delivery, and grocery trucks.

Proof of residency can be demonstrated with a resident reentry sticker, local identification, utility bill, deed, lease or tax bill. Those actively engaged in work in the Florida Keys, such as construction workers, will need to show a letter from their employer, employee identification, a paystub, or current construction contract in the Keys. First responders, healthcare workers, and military actively engaged in work in the Keys will need proper IDs.

Long delays are possible at checkpoints and officials advise not to call 911 with non-emergency questions about U.S. 1.

Wisconsin State Closed to Non Esential Travel Except

As of 25 March 2020 this emergency order has been issued by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. Visit this website for details:

https://content.govdelivery.com/atta...0At%20Home.pdf

Travel to parks not otherwise closed is permitted. State parks are day use only. Many park facilities are closed. Entrance fees are waved. Most or all Federal Forest Service campgrounds are still closed for the season.
It is not entirely clear if RV's and TT's are considered homes like motels and such.
There is a dump station without water at the Baraboo waste treatment plant that is open year round.

DEFINITIONS
EMERGENCY ORDER #12 SAFER AT HOME ORDER
11. Essential Activities. Individuals may leave their home or residence to perform any of the following:

b. Necessary supplies and services. To obtain necessary services or supplies for themselves and their family or household members, or to deliver those services or supplies to others, such as, by way of example only and without limitation: canned food, dry goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, gasoline, propane, pet supply, fresh meats, fish, and poultry, and any other household consumer products, and products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences. 7
c. Outdoor activity. To engage in outdoor activity, including visiting public and state parks, provided individuals comply with Social Distancing Requirements as defined below. Such activities include, by way of example and without limitation, walking, biking, hiking, or running. Individuals may not engage in team or contact sports such as by way of example and without limitation, basketball, ultimate frisbee, soccer, or football, as these activities do not comply with Social Distancing Requirements. Playgrounds are closed.

Yes, we always understood the importance of immunity, but now it has become the most pressing issue.

National Park closing are based on requests from local governments adjoining the parks and are on a case by case basis. There are no plans at this time for blanket closures. But things can change rapidly. It's important for us to keep aware based on verifiable sources and not individual hearsay or rumors. Neither is it responsible to circulate rumors. Chuck

RV parks in Wisconsin

I received these messages from Bolder Creek Campground in south west Wisconsin.

Boulder Creek Campground <camp@bouldercreekcampground.com>

Thank you for letting us know, Paul. We appreciate the help in adding communication avenues to the campers.

Our state association is trying to help determine if campgrounds are an essential business but we are left waiting at this point for an answer from the government and public health officials that have been contacted.

Good morning Paul,

Thank you for reaching out to us at Boulder Creek!

We plan to open 4/24 for the season. Our opening date has been pushed back from opening 4/1 from the ever changing events with COVID-19 and it may cause us to change it again so please keep that in mind. The safety of our campers and staff is the utmost importance! We will post any changes to our Boulder Creek Facebook page.

We do have a dump station at the park for our campers to use!

Thank you again and I hope you and your family are staying healthy during these difficult times.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or would like to make reservations!

Samantha

Smokey Mtn. Nat'l Park is now closed because of too many day visitors.

I can't believe they thought the policy of eliminating the entrance fee would cut down on masses of people. That only increased the amount.

I got an email from Grand Teton Lodge Company. All of their facilities are cancelling the reservations where the opening dates have now been moved back to June.

The radio reports that Washington DNR lands are closed as are the National Parks in the state. My original link above should give the details.
