False positives likely do occur and one of these probably happened to my 1 year old niece. Last month she went in to have a minor medical procedure done and was tested for Covid which came back positive for antibodies. The rest of her immediate family was then tested and all came back negative.

A city in Texas purchased millions of dollars worth of tests. Once they received them, they verified that the tests worked before using them on citizens. The results were so incorrect (false positives and negatives) they didn't use the tests. They weren't any good. There is a 60 minutes episode about the plethora of junk tests being purchased and other testing problems. It was interesting.

I wish I would have invested in the companies doing the testing.

Here's my test report for Covid antibodies.

Comments from the Doctor's Office
Negative COVID-19 antibody. This means that you either had the virus and did not develop a full immune response or you never had COVID-19.

Component Results
Component Your Value Standard Range
SARS-COV-2 ANTIBODY Non-reactive
Non-Reactive
This test was performed using the Siemens Atellica IM SARS-CoV-2 Total Assay.
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. This test has not been FDA cleared or
approved. This test has been authorized by FDA under an Emergency Use
Authorization (EUA). This test is only authorized for the durations of time the
declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the
emergency use of in vitro diagnostic tests for detection of SARS-CoV-2 antibody
(IgG and IgM) and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 infection under section 564(b)(1) of
the Act, 21 U.S.C. 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or
revoked sooner. This assay should not be used to diagnose or exclude acute
infection.

At least they tell you the test is not approved by the FDA. But it might be a more effective message (to the client) if they told you that before making the appointment.

The "extreme heat" would kill us first! Contrary to what someone said, there's no evidence that heat kills the virus, especially in the Texas heat!

So walking naked across the Death Valley floor was a waste of time.

The Covid test was bundled in with my other blood work so it was not a worthless trip. Basically they got 3 viles from me. One for the Covid and the other two were for the normal yearly blood test stuff.

Thanks for that. I have never seen you and have no idea who you are but I cannot get that image out of my mind.

Basically I am no longer participating in the great pandemic drama of 2020. Everything I did, everything I put myself through, everything I denied myself was most likely a waste, and the only thing I got out of it was a rather poignant reminder that everyone has an agenda and it’s not necessarily my well being.
Quitter!

You are not alone. There is about 130K that have stopped the fight. More are joining every day. I plan on avoiding that fight.
