It will be $600/wk IN ADDITION to the current benefit. The max benefit in CA is $450/wk, soon to be $1050/wk for the next 4 months.

The plan seems to be, throw some cash at a majority of Americans, fluff up unemployment to an amount that will keep many folks above water for a few months and get some money to businesses so we’ll have jobs waiting when everyone can go back to work.

Yes, some money will inevitably go to inappropriate places, but we knew that would happen.

We don't have a lot of money but we've decided if we get any of this money we will make sure to spend it at locally owned small businesses.

Somebody check my math but I think about $50B is spent in the US each day. About $604B of the stimulus bill is to go to individuals. Looks like the whole thing will only last 12 days if we had somewhere to spend it.
