Graffiti in my country of birth and former home, New Zealand.
It looks like NZ dodged a bullet this week. They've been free of community transmission since November until a few days ago when someone who arrived from overseas, stayed the mandatory two weeks in a quarantine hotel, had two negative tests, left quarantine, did some traveling and shopping and then got symptoms a few days later and tested positive.
Luckily this person was using the contact tracking app so finding all her contacts went well. The whole country but especially the greater Auckland area (1.5 million) has been in suspense for the last few days waiting for results from all her contacts. It was just announced a few hours ago that they're all negative. It's thought that the woman got it from the quarantine hotel, maybe on the way out the door after the negative tests.
My brother who lives on a busy road in Auckland said there hasn't been much traffic for the last few days. He thinks a lot of people even went into voluntary lockdown. The whole country was tightly locked down for about a month last year. Nobody wants to do that again.
