We are on Social Security and had electronic refund direct deposited. Received money yesterday via direct deposit.

As of a few minutes ago, $$ still not in the bank nor will the IRS site give any status.
Do we 'deserve' this payment? If it helps some of the local small businesses stay open after the closures by our spending, for sure. I have a small pension, both are on SS and have savings thast right now after the market's decline those dollars will sure help pay the bills as well.

You have to get on the IRS web site and it will as for your bank information.

I received the $2400 deposit 2 days ago and then my tax return deposit yesterday.

have gone to the irs website. it says:
we are eligible for the stimulus check
it shows the correct direct deposit info
they cannot tell us when we will get the check

I'm on SS and have been paying them for 60-years....
Every time I click on it I get: Payment Status Not Available

The website is flooded and overloaded and that seems to be the only canned response.
I think either you get lucky and your query gets through or you need to try at 3-4AM EST

I don't know anyone on SS who did not file taxes electronically and has gotten any money. I know several people who are on SS and did file electronically and have gotten money.
The SS website directs one to the Treasury Dept. website which says that they are still working on sending out to SS recipients who did not file their taxes electronically.

That probably it .. not E filing. The E filers are probably easiest to just click and disperse. When I filed on paper I always waited weeks if I had a refund coming.
Efiling if Ive gotten a refund its always been in days.
I Efile if I owe also ! because I can designate to withdraw at the last possible day
21st century problem ... paper

They can take your money just can't give you money!!!!!!!!!!!!
The account information used to make an electronic payment to the IRS cannot be used as the account information for the direct deposit of your payment. If we do not have bank account information for you and your payment has not been processed yet, Get My Payment will allow you to submit your bank account information once you have properly verified your identity so that you can get your EIP via direct deposit. Otherwise, we will mail your payment to address we have on file for you.
