One thing to keep in mind is that as the pandemic progresses you may not find yourself welcome in some communities. Inyo County here in CA for example just posted that they do not want visitors coming into the area and are asking the BLM to close all public land in the county. I think their concern is A) visitors having contact while shopping for groceries, etc. B) visitors adding a burden to an already inadequate medical system. These are small communities that have minimal hospital facilities. The state is pretty much on voluntary lockdown at this point. While I could travel and had intended to do a remote boondock I've reconsidered and will now remain at the S&B. Before this is all over I expect most states will eventually implement some form of a stay at home policy. Just remember your actions affect others.

Thanks. This crisis certainly gives new thoughts about being full-timers. At this point we don't really have a home community to return to. Our domicile is South Dakota but I really don't want to make that drive right now.

Also, please be aware that people in smaller coastal towns in Washington and Oregon are flipping out! The mayors are making Emergency Declarations and NOT ALLOWING TOURISTS or RV's in the towns. They are also closing down hotels, campgrounds, VRBO's and those types. Washington casinos are also closed.
The locals do not want more people (potential carriers) to frequent their grocery stores. gas stations, etc.
So, while you are headed to a destination, it could also be "shut down".

Come on down tho the RGV in S. Texas. Most of the snowbirds have left and every campground has RV spaces available. It does get warm with 99F temps forecast for later in the week. But with the pools open and the AC running, we should be fine. In a RV park it's great since everybody is looking out for each other.

I totally understand. We're not full timers but I have given thought about how we would handle the situation if we were.

HHI
We live in Virginia and own a lot at HHI Motorhome Resort, S.C. Had originally planned a trip down there in 2 or 3 weeks but will probably forego as of now. No travel restrictions in Virginia and as far as I know there are none in N.C. or S.C. So we'll just be patient for now.

Thanks! We were not long ago in Rockport and took a drive down to South Padre. really liked it there so that is on the list of considerations. I'm hoping that a lot of the CGs previously full up here in the south will open up as people go home up north.

Another reason Texas has become one of my favorite states as retired full time in a MH.
State after state is being locked based on the situation in a big city. Just heard on the local news for the ARKLAREX that Texas governor is not locking down the whole state because local authorities have the power.

Small cities are not likely to fare any better however the larger concern in a small city is the lack of respirators and hospital facilities. The medical resources will be directed at the big cities so I'm really not sure you're better off in a small city.

If MI doesn't close park campgrounds, we like Orchard Beach. Beautiful little campground on the shore of Lake Michigan. Worth holing up there if you can. We come from Ohio to stay there every fall. Stay safe. Heard Detroit is having an outbreak.

Sheltering at Parks
We left closing CA and came to AZ which has been very accommodating (but full) for camping.
It is easier to stay apart here than any place else. Even on trails, a little manners works well.
Be safe
