Tampa RV Show?
I have been told that the Tampa RV Show is still going to happen next month. I wonder who might think that it’s a good idea for several thousand older folks to crowd together in RV’s and walk around in what is usually pretty close quarters.

Oh sure, it's a great idea if you want to shorten the SS and Medicare rolls.

i think most humans can decide for themselves if a particular activity is safe to engage in.

There are many people who don't make good decisions.

It will be interesting to see what vendors skip the show.

We will go. Outside is not an issue to us and we'll limit our times inside. We won't go the two days our ticket allows and we'll limit our motorhome tours to ones we're interested in.
Once we get there we will see what procedures are in place. It's fairly widely accepted that good air flow is the key and that's fairly easy to do in a motorhome. A decent fan at one end with the windows open probably would reduce the risk.
When I had a doctor appointment in the local hospital with my family physician of 30+ years, and his is a family practice inside the hospital of mostly older patients, he said that all they're wearing are surgical masks and donning a face shield for close contact activities plus hand and surface cleaning often. He has a staff of a few dozen and he said they see COVID patients every day and he personally sees several each week. He said no one on his staff has tested positive and that was just a few months ago. That matches up with what the healthcare professionals I used to work with have told us.

I wish you were right. Really, I do. But...
My observations of public behaviors at sports, entertainment, and public events over the past 40 years belies your optimism.
That Covid hospitalizations are skyrocketing and that ICUs are full in many places also tends to deny that most humans are capable understanding safety, especially if it means the safety of persons other than themselves.
Will Tampa be a "safe" event? We'll have to wait and see but there is no reason it should be inherently unsafe so long as guests fully adhere to safety protocols.

We were planning on going, but will not. This is not due to being afraid of Covid, but it is no fun when being forced to wear a mask. I like to browse, eat and look at a lot of RV's. With the restrictions we will not have fun which is the reason for going.

Agreed, but its not our job or the governments to make decisions for them. We are suppose to be land of the Free.

Exactly. What might be a good decision for me, could be a bad one for you.
I am very much looking forward to the Tampa RV show. Age is not a risk factor for me, only 57. However I am extremely High risk and have been so all year. I am Type 1 diabetic and my immune system is highly compromised due to Chemo for a year now.
COVID will not stop me from living and enjoying my life to the fullest. I traveled lots this year, to AR twice, to FL twice, Outer Banks, Ohio, Virginia Beach, Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm in TX now. I just try to be careful and smart about what I do, what I touch and how close I get to people.
Many will think I am making poor decisions due to me being very high risk. For me it works, it keeps me with a positive attitude which is needed when fighting cancer, and doing chemo. Also, I have better than a 98% chance of surviving COVID. There is no cure for my cancer...
Spent 20 years in the USN, so we could be land of the Free. I plan on living as such...
