Their Baaack!

The Canadian snow bird migration has begun. The MV COHO ferry resumed service between Victoria B.C. and Port Angeles, WA for the first time since March 2020. There was a large group waiting to greet the first arrivals and I have to tell ya, it was pretty emotional…it’s been along time coming. I took a few pictures to share.

That's wonderful to see and yep it's quite an emotional feeling for many. Now if we can just get our country to stop this PCR expensive privatised testing to get back into our country we'll be golden. Thank you to the USA for excepting us double vaccinated with no other hoops to jump through.

Folks in Alberta been hanging out for 17 days and 14 days at a 35 site CG Milk River waiting anxiously for the border to open last night at Midnight. Line ups don't appear to have been as bad as was anticipated.

Congratulations to all that have made it south safely. May the sun be warm on your back.

Going to USA from Canada.

Saw on the news where the Peace Bridge in Buffalo,NY was backed up for two hrs. for Canadians to cross into the USA at midnight. I'm sure wait times will be more normal. Welcome Snowbirds.

That kind of traffic jam is probably as much a celebration as inconvenience.

Left Washington State a month ago. It is nice in the desert southwest.

Welcome back and be careful going over the mountain passes.

We have been in Corpus Christi - Padre Island for past 10 days. Very nice here with temps ranging in low 70s to mid 80s. Be safe and have fun!

Other international friends have arrived too. A friend from England arrived the first day flights were opened. Scottish friends arrived a few days ago, having been delayed by a positive COVID test. Luckily their illness was mild (they were vaccinated), but they did have to delay. Both friends keep their rigs in the US while back in the UK. The English couple actually got stuck in the US during the early border closings and had to do all kinds of paperwork to authorize his extended stay. The other couple made it out earlier, but it took the almost 2 years to come back. Now they have to get their rig functioning!

We were just down in Palm Springs for a week (via air), and the RV parks were all pretty full. I didn't get a chance to drive through any and see how many fellow Canadians were there, but I'm sure a handful made it
