Tips For Covid Trip ?
We are planning on taking the RV out as planned, to a smaller town.
Any tips anyone can share on how to make the most of a weekend ?
They are requiring masks, so we may curtail some things we do.
Need cool ideas, it's 100 here.
Thought we might go on some pretty drives, eat in RV, etc....
Wondering if we should cancel, but I know it may get worse?

You aren't providing enough information to allow folks to offer advice. What town, what type RV, who is going for a starter. We traveled all the way cross country from Florida to Colorado with very little WuFlu interference. We stopped in at least 10 places.

If everyone including you are wearing masks, maintaining distance and personal hygiene there should be little risk in going into a town.

You are a long drive from cool weather.
I've been getting emails from an RV park in Fredericksburg saying come on down.

Suggestion:
Carry all food - no trip to store on trip.
Precook some of your meals - less work for cook.
Use paper plates - less work for dish washer.
Carry all your own bottled water - your water, your control.
Use paper towels - easy to dispose and no washing required.
Hand sanitizer, clorox wipes, clorox mix in a spray bottle if wipes not available.
Wear gloves when out. Wash hands on return. Sanitise what you touch.
Only use your own toilet - less outside contact.
Wear a mask - if you can't, stay home.
Wear a mask when outside your RV and also when talking through a window .......
Wear an N-95 (KN-95) mask or wear a cotton home made mask.
Wear a cotton mask over your N-95 if it has a valve.
Consider wearing a face shield - another layer of protection.
Not wearing a mask is the same as pointing a gun at someone. Standing next to someone without a mask is like pointing one at yourself. If you are in an area where people do not wear masks, leave.
When you fuel, pay by credit card. Wipe or spray down the pump controls and hose nozzle. Wear leather gloves, wipe them down after fueling and store the gloves in a ventilated place. Clean your hands after. Put credit receipt in ziplock bag after wiping it down.
Slow down your travel speed to stay as safe as possible. Limit activity as well.
Consider the air ambulance insurance coverage.
Have two drivers.

Are you a geocacher by chance? Or perhaps you could take it up starting with this trip. It's an awesome pastime for RVers, especially. Using a GPS it takes you to places in your area that you didn't know existed. Sometimes there's even a 'treasure' to be found or a 'Travel Bug' to be passed along to the next one. Our Travel Bugs have traveled world-wide. It's neat to follow them! We geocached practically at every trip. Our grandkids loved doing them with us from 4 yr. on up. They're in their 20's now and still do it.

I'm careful but this sounds like paranoia. If I was that worried I would just stay home.

boondock.. It's only two days and you don't have to wear masks. If you need hookups for the AC because of it being so hot I would postpone. Sitting on a cement/gravel park spot with others nearby isn't my idea of a vacation.

Thank you, Pat for a thorough summary.
Where you are and where you are going makes a big difference. Texas stats are not good. However, Texas is a big place and I have no idea where Dimebox is. A little research can make a big difference.
Weekends in Wisconsin in campgrounds are crowded. Fourth of July weekend will be impossible to socially distance in, in many places.
It is a free country. You are free to take or mitigate what ever risk you choose.
I wish you good luck and happy trials ahead!
