Travels across the country

We are planning a trip to South Dakota in a few weeks. Was just wondering if anyone has experienced any problems. We will be starting from home in Maryland and travel thru Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and finally reaching South Dakota. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. I have contacted all state police agencies in above listed states for any restrictions and they have none. Stay safe everyone.

Use caution or you may get the after effects of the recent motorcycle rally. What happened in S. Dakota didn't stay in S. Dakota.

First off give some time. You will see numbers increase.

AND as of today SD has the highest infection rate in the country.

And regardless of what some may say we have not beaten this virus by any stretch of the imagination.

Some how I do not look at 1000 deaths a day for over a month as a win.

Unless you're licking toilet seats you'll be fine. Go. Have fun. SD is one of the states that got it right and they are thriving.

Known cases..... They went to many different states after the rally. They gave it to others and those then passed it on. Many were asymptomatic but could still transmit. Many didn't get tested.

The numbers are lies.
Live your life in peace. You'll be fine. No one tells you the daily death rate for all other factors just 19. Click image for larger version

If planning to travel through Indian reservation land, be aware that you may be stopped and turned away. The tribes have the right to do so, and have been exercising that right in order to protect themselves from possible virus exposure.

We did a loop starting from NM in late June, included AZ CA NV UT ID WY MT SD KS MO TN AL
Ditto the reservation caution. Just be aware, plan travel around the res.

Otherwise, no issues. Mask prevalence absolutely follows more on left, fewer on right. Did not have any problems at all. Most areas are open, people are stand-offish nearly universally. Smiles won't spread disease. GO. LIVE.

I say go for it.

Much like preparing for bad weather be sensible and plan for the unexpected.

Also be respectful of others thoughts / viewpoints i.e. dont argue about masks, closure, etc.

This seems to be the new normal. Accept it, deal with it and enjoy life.

Hard to believe there are still non-believers out there! There are many more intelligent scientists and doctors out there that know what they're talking about.

This is an interesting site for numbers. Scroll down and you can see how the virus fits in with other diseases.

Left South Carolina in April, travelled to
Mobile AL
Elkhart Ind
Charlotte MI
Across the upper peninsula of MI
Across Wisconsin and MN
Across SD (even Sturgis), Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona.

No problems getting slots in campgrounds
Many tourist attractions closed
No problems or restrictions on travel except the Indian Reservation in the Dakota Badlands (roadblock and refusal to allow through)

In most places some wear masks and social distance, many don't.

Be careful, use common sense precautions, wear a mask in places where there are others, make your trip and have fun.
