Will you volunteer for phase 3 vaccine clinical trials?
I just read that they are seeking volunteers to test a new Covid 19 vaccine. https://www.coronaviruspreventionnetwork.org/
Personally I probably won’t as I live too far out in the country. It's a 70 mile drive to the nearest hospital.
Would you?

absolutely not under any come-on circumstances. You would never know what’s being tested on you.

Luckily, not everyone feels that way. Every single drug on the market has to be tested otherwise you wouldn't have cures or remedies for any medical issues.
Those volunteering would be screened for good health. Not everyone can volunteer. They are not having any problem getting volunteeers.

I have volunteered. Haven't been contacted yet. May be too early.
I have comfort the vaccines have gone through Stage 1/2 trials already. Also, I'm 46 yo and in decent health. Think I had it in Feb so that makes me more eager to try.
As twogypies mentioned - my logic is the more volunteers, the closer we become to having a viable vaccine that can help get us out of this mess.

With all the surgeries/hospital stays and trying to recover from those........NO!
Besides I would NOT be a 'qualified' candidate for testing
Strange how vaccines of yesterday needed years for development/testing/human trials/FDA approval etc then few years later ISSUES become known about these vaccines.
Time will tell whether these 'fast tracked' vaccines prove affective.........W/O majpr side effects later
Even IF I was 'healthy' I would NOT be involved in the 'Guinea Pig' Human Trials
More time/info required for me.
In mean time.........
Stay at Home. MASK Up when out. Wash your Hands
And no side effects from doing those simple tasks

many reasons people volunteer to subject their bodies to unknowns. money is just one. I don’t need/want what their offering, known or otherwise, but feel free.

Based on that TwoGypsies I'm curious if you are volunteering then? I'm more with Old Biscuits take on it all.
Awesome that they are getting more volunteers than they need

Based on what I have been reading it may be the only way I would get a vaccine quickly (or at least a 50/50 chance).
They are already are developing the criteria on who would get it first. My guess is that my demographics will be way down on the list.
But I won't be a guinea pig for now.
FWIW, I am only leaving home for essential trips, always wear a mask, social distance, and using hand sanitizer or washing my hands.

No way. The ingredients in vaccines don't belong in my body.

NOPE for a virus that has a 98% rate of cure on its own accord in the human body.
no chips, i am not doing the logans run thing until every elected official is chipped to expire at age 40
no way a vaccine has been developed in 5 months free of harm..
i bet the cure was in a room long ago
or the malaria pill is the cure
sure wish they were this excited about flu deaths or texting deaths or abortions
ask why are the homeless not dropping like flies of covid 19???? they dont social distance. its a scam
how can congress fly all over the country and not but one get infected? how about congressman's lewis funeral where they didn't practice 6 feet apart???? or mandatory 14day quarantine

I believe they also exceeded the maximum allowed in church as well.
