2021 Verona -cruise control

On a recent trip I decided to use the cruise control in our 2021 Verona. The experience was great, but confusing. When using the cruise control the RV seemed like a different animal. Engine seemed to wake up with more power. When not on cruise control the pedal would be floored and sluggish power. When cruise control engaged it felt like a rocket.

Anyone else experience this?

Wonder what can be done to make RV perform like being on cruise control all the time? Seemed like a different engine tune versus the "fuel saver" transmission mode that has been discussed in other threads.

I have a 21 Verona and have noticed the same thing. It’s substantially more power and acceleration using the cruise control. I too wish I could have the same performance off cruise control.

We have a 22 Verona and I've noticed the same thing. Just guessing, but probably a programming feature that uses a more responsive throttle map for better responsiveness - like using a "sport" button in a car.

Agree, different map. Wish we could select that map all the time...

Can't you hold down the "mode" button on the transmission control to switch from enonomy to performance? I think they default to economy at every start up. I know people on the Newmar forum have talked about this.

This isn't a gear issue...the engine has more pep. The transmission stays in the same gear but engine acts differently in cruise versus using the pedal.

Transmission might not be going into lock-up. Or the performance trans mode affects engine mapping
