2021 Vienna

Hi,

I am new to RV. received 2021 Vienna 25RML 5 days ago. Does anyone know if it has built-in surge protector? If not, is it worth to install one? Thanks very much in advance.

Probably doesn’t have one if i isn’t listed in the features - look at the transfer switch and you’ll be able to figure it out. Or ask the dealer since it’s new. Everyone here will tell you it’s a mush have and there are many stories about power issues p, both low and high in various rv parks. I don’t worry about it but it’s cheap insurance for your electronics. Low voltage is another potential issue.

Thanks, Wold, for your reply. I asked the dealer and the anwser was not sure. But I opened the cover in the bathroom today and found that the Vienna comes with a built-in surge guider. It is Southwire 4130, a basic one, maybe not protect low voltage. not sure if I should replace it with a better one. But it is relatively easy to DIY. Thanks again.

It does have a built-in surge protector, though I imagine like everything its a fortune to replace, use an external one as they are much less to replace.

I asked my factory rep about using an external with the built in, he did not recommend it as they could interfere with each other…?

I did just have a low power situation this last trip (over Easter) where on a 30AMP I was not getting but 4-5 AMPS. They checked the outlet and found two loose connections. Once tightened I was able to get near 25AMPS so, yeah things happen!
