A/C and fan blade questions

My understanding is only the Mach 10 units are having fan blade issues. Could a Mach 8 be installed in its place easily?

From what Ive read yes it can. All a/c units will fit in the opening/ What you need to make sure is that it is Firefly compatible.

I broke one fan blade on my first trip. That SUCKED???

The consensus on the forums is it breaks if used while driving. Thats what happened to me. So Ill never use it while on the road again. Otherwise its a good ac

Correct there is a fix put out by Coleman for the mach 10 to secure the compressor better. I have installed it on mine. Time will tell if it’s a true fix.

I have seen the bracket to secure the compressor but not much info about its effectiveness while travelling. To me being able to use at least one while on the road is paramount. The Mach 8 comes standard on the Explorers so it is Firefly compatible.

I got brackets for both ac from Renegade and I installed them. The attachment points for the brackets were already there. Not sure why Coleman didnt install them Guess it saved them a buck or two to leave them off

After travelling 8 days in summer from Flagstaff Az to Augusta Ga without the front ac working I will never use the ac while driving again. Just not worth the chance of another fan failure

I have reflexit in all my windows when driving. So even on 100*+ heat the inside doesnt get to hot. My wife sleeps in the bed often while I drive and she has never said it got hot back there.

The blades are relatively cheap and easy to install. Do you not carry a spare? I would probably carry a spare capacitor as well. Getting close to making a decision between a new Verona or used Explorer. As I said earlier having at least 1 A/C on while driving is important to me. Probably overthinking all of this. lol

I bought 2 extra fans blades that I keep in my parts box. Just in case but again I dont plan on driving with the ac on. Also if I talk to someone at a cg who broke their blades I could help them by having it and help change it

Also I bought oem blades. I know people on facebook who keep telling people to buy a dometic blade and cut it to fit, bad idea imo. oem was hard to find 2 years ago. Might be easier now

FYI- Verona LE models have the same A/C (Mach 8) as the Explorer with horizontal fans so an upgrade could easily be done on Verona's.

We broke a blade on one of our units this past summer. I contacted Coleman and they sent a new blade along with the support brackets for both units. this was all under warrantee. Like others mentioned the mounting holes for the brackets are there. So it is an easy installation. I suspect the brackets where on back order at the time of delivery and to keep manufacturing on schedule they where sent uninstalled intentionally.

I'll bet you're right. What year Verona do you have? Do you drive with the A/C units on?
