Computer needs to be flashed

Hi Everybody
In October my wife and I bought a new 36’ valancia. When we brought unit home I could not find where to see the mode the transmission was in or if in manual mode what gear I was in. Thought it was just me but when I returned to the dealership I found out that everyone agreed that the truck computer needed to be reflashed. That means taking the RV to Freightliner. The problem I am facing is Freightliner of Knoxville is a terrible dealership and would require me to leave the RV with them for3 or 4 days till they could get around to it. Likewise with any of the other dealership in the area. Does Anyone know of a dealership within a days ride of Knoxville Tn where I can make an appointment to bring my RV too

I know this doesn't help but what happened with pre delivery inspection? How many people drove and operated that rig form the factory to when it became yours? What else besides the gear display is not working? That is not making sense.

I took mine to Gaffney several times as that is the official FCCC service center which is who built your chassis. They take appointments.

We took procession of the RV with 500 miles on the odometer. From the time I put the down payment on the RV it took about one week for the dealer to PDI and clean it up for delivery. Additionally we spent a full day with the dealer going through the RV learning how to use the new unit. I actually didn’t notice that I did not know what gear I was in until I tried out the manual mode of the transmission. That was after we had driven about 100 miles and hit a hilly part of rt 75 south in Ky. I wanted the transmission to shift down sooner than it was. It was not that I was unfamiliar with the Freightliner. Our original RV was a 2018 39FB Luxe 5th wheel which I pulled with a M2 106 Freightliner.

Have you tried pushing and holding the button on the end of the shifter stalk in for about 5 seconds? That turns on “manual” shifting mode and it may show you current gear and max gear allowed.

Need to flash computer

Hi
Thanks for you reply. Holding the end slide in forb7 seconds will put it in manual mode. The problem is I cannot see what gear I am in. We have an appointment to go to the repair facility in Gaffney SC for the 3rd of March.
