Many thanks to the guys who contributed and especially LSLBlues who made it super clear how to fix the problem.

Many thanks!

What's crazy to me is Renegade couldn't help you fix this, you had to come here. You'd think someone there would instantly know what was wrong and tell you how to fix it. I just bought a 2025 XL and after reading this I'm going to the garage right now to try 120v charging!

RV-C addresses shed where devices can give AC or DC load status, and the device can say whether it can be shed or not, but Firefly doesn't even use those messages.

Thanks for the reply - I already posted images of my 2019 Verona 34 VQB Built in 2018 (with video link) with shedding and even included the Firefly shedding display image as well as a letter from Firefly confirming the date. Your discovery date of "Shedding" is 5 years in error.

Let's move back to the OP topic - Thanks

I explained to their support what I found - hopefully they can be a bit more helpful if others have a misconfigured setup.

They were happy to try and help with a warranty visit or a remote login to check the settings, but ultimately the folks here had a better idea of where to look haha (and the closest Renegade dealer is 3 hours away).

Viper hello, Regarding charging problems. Regretfully, Renegade and most selling dealers have little to no knowledge regarding Victron’s dual's.

As a first test - plug your coach into "50 amp service” (nearby RV park or dryer) more than likely, it will charge fine. Next using an 30-50 amp adapter, see if it charges on 15-30 amp service.

If your system is not charging on 15-30 amp single phase shore power, you’ll need to use Victron’s Configure 3 on a PC or Victron's USB adapter, to "uncheck" the “Switch As a Group” selection box on the main page shown below. This field must be un-checked for the dual's to charge on 15-30 amp single phase shore power. Even though 15-30 amp service is brought to L1 and L2 in fuse panel, only one leg will be used for charging if they both are on the same single phase.

Here’s a clip from one of my articles which explains switch as a group in more detail.

Switch as a Group - On the main page, where we select inverters, make sure the “Switch as a Group” box is Un-Checked. If checked, both inverters will require 50 amp service to charge the batteries. Some think “switch as a group” is a needed parameter for dual phase, when in fact it only has to do with charging.

The box needs to be un-checked. By leaving the box “un-checked”, when using single phase 15-30 amp service, the Master will allow “one Multi” to charge and “Pass Thru”, while the“other Multi” inverts on battery in a normal manner. It will not use both 120 volt legs for both inverters if they are single phase.

Some factory installers and up-fitters in error, check this box during the install and charging works for them because they are on 50 shore power. When the owner gets his coach home and plugs into single phase 15-30 service, neither inverter will charge.

Best Regards - Mike
