Hard to find Renegade Verona 36vsb data

Have narrowed down my RV purchase to the Verona 36VSB or Dynamax DX3 34KD. Gathering info on both but have test driven neither as they are extremely difficult to find for test drive.

Here's some holes in my spreadsheet: All of these questions relate to 2022 or 2021 Verona 36VSB:
1. Is apple car play available on the info console? I'd like to be able to play my iphone music and/or music from Pandora app.
2. What type of shocks are used?
3. Can Allison "FuelSense" be disabled at dealer?
4. Is there a by-pass switch that allows me to use the house batteries to start the coach in case truck battery is dead?
5 . Is the electric induction stove top removable to use outdoors and then re-attach back inside?
6. Is the blind spot monitoring just a light that shows on the mirror when another vehicle is in a blind spot or does it make a sound or vibrate the seat?
7. Can you only view/activate the side camera by turning on the blinker or is there a setting to see side views at all times?
8. Are the windows double pane?

Thank you.
All of the key information that I see says that the Verona 36VSB is, for my needs, the better coach. However, I just want to complete my comparison spreadsheet.

Regards to all and thanks again.

I did find out that there is momentary battery booster for connecting house batteries to the chassis battery. So, #4 is YES.

Also found out that the Verona LE has the double pane windows but the regular Verona does not but does have tinted. So, #8 is NO.

Still searching for remainder of items.

Also found the answer to #3 - No the dealers will not touch the FuelSense shift points.

Answer to #2 appears to be Sachs. Or Gabriel.

Allison Fuel Sense should be able to be deleted or changed at any shop that works on Allison's. Most dealers likely don't have the software necessary to do it, but a Freightliner shop most likely will.

Yes, I called two Renegade dealerships and confirmed exactly what you said. However, not every Allison shop has technical people that know how to do this according to one Renegade user who took his RV to an Allison shop.

It's the first thing I'm going to do when I can finally find a coach.
Thanks,
Mike

So, here are the answers that I have, and what I have missing (ONLY #6) Anyone know? These pertain to the Verona 36VSB.
#1. Sorta. The Garmin device in the cab is: Garmin RV-BBT601 Touch Screen Infotainment Hub 6". If you look this up on Garmin's website it says discontinued. Hope that Renegade has a stockpile. Looks like a nice unit. Apple car play does not appear to work exactly as apple car play on this device and I still can't confirm that it does or doesn't work on the regular truck screen. However, the Garmin device will connect via bluetooth with an apple iPhone and then you can play your music that way. The maps will be be better on Garmin than on apple because they will be RV specific, not routing you to roads that can't accommodate your RV. So, for the purpose of playing music from your phone, this appears to fill the bill.

#2. Sachs or Gabriel shocks. Not as good as Bilstein (DX3).
#3. NO, not at dealership but at Allison or maybe Freightliner. There's even evidence from one owner that one of the Renegade representatives said that
Renegade is disabling or turning off the FuelSense. The vast majority of Renegade owners appear to NOT like the shifting points that come from this FuelSense.
#4. Yes, right at the door there is a switch that allows you to connect house batteries to "boost" the truck batteries if needed. This, in may opinion, is extremely important.
#5. One dealer confirmed to me that the induction cooktop could NOT be removed and used outside. This apparently IS the case on the Newmar Superstar. I think DX3 does this as well.
#6. Blind Spot Monitoring. I still don't have an answer to this. If any Verona 36VSB owners know, please chime him here.
#7. Viewing the right or left hand side of coach without turning on the turn signals. This is a biggie and apparently is NOT possible on the Verona 36VSB. I don't think it's possible on any of the Renegades but I don't have that confirmed. It IS possible on the DX3 because they have a 4 quadrant view which includes the sides of the coach. This is a HUGE safety feature which I hope is incorporated into all coaches soon. It allows you to see down the sides (both blind spots) instantly without even glancing at your mirrors or turning on your turn signals. I'm sure there are some that are fine with just looking at the mirrors, and I get that.
#8. No, the windows are NOT double pane windows in the Verona 36VSB. They ARE on the Verona LE. Yuck. Oh, well. I have to have the cab over bunk so I can't move to the Verona LE, or this single factor would push me in that direction.

So, I now know all the answers except for #6. I suspect it's just a light. Would be nice if was also an audible sound.

I still feel that the overwhelming fit and finish and many of the features favor the Renegade in a major way. There is no "perfect" coach. This has the features that I want and I'm ready to purchase when I can find a unit west of the Mississippi. I know this isn't the best time as a buyer, but I'm ready and I want to get the show on the road.

Hello - My Verona had Fuel Sense which bogged the engine which was corrected by Allision - Your best bet is to take it to an authorized Allison Transmission shop, they are the one who can disable the program.

Just a quick not all the safety stuff like cameras and indicators are great, but there's no alternative for mirrors. The M2 comes with two large mirrors which work perfect.

Regards - Mike

Winter camping features

I am also comparing the Renegade 36SVB and Dynamax DX3 34KD and hoped to re-energize this thread with a few more questions. I am in the same boat of not being able to lay eyes on either unit let alone drive one so the comparison has been based on published specs and A LOT of forum discussion reading. Full disclosure is that I have shifted slightly towards the Renegade if I can live with its (few) shortfalls. I am adding a few winter camping related and cost questions to those presented previously...

1) Are the 36VSB holding tank and utility compartments heated by the Aqua-Hot 250, electric pads, or some combination of the above? Thermostatically controlled? These DX3 compartments appear to be heated by the Aqua-hot 400 system with a thermostat in the utility compartment.
2) Dual pane windows were on my must-have list but I am reconsidering given no availability on the 36VSB. Any user feedback on the importance (or not) of dual-pane windows in these units given the relatively small total window surface area? How critical are dual-pane to winter camping?
3) Have 36VSB owners found the Aqua-Hot 250 system to be adequate (vs Dynamax 400 unit) in "southeastern winter conditions", say worse case nighttime lows of 10-15 with daytime temps in mid 20s to 30s.
4) Any other winter items I am not considering?
5) Cost - Forum discussions have indicated that Renegades are not discounted as much as Dynamax resulting in higher overall cost. Could anyone share recent experience with obtainable discounts on both brands in 2021 COVID conditions?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have said this before, but it keeps coming up.

I talked directly to VP of sales and none of the Verona's have fuel sense enabled.

They do not want Verona's to be slowed down!

i would never buy another coach with dual pane. all of them have too many problems fogging. The last coach, I replaced them with single panel window.

You can just roll down shades if it is real cold out

Sasquatch: I was interested in the the Dynamax 34KD as well, and did some reading on the Dynamax Facebook page. I found a "compare Renegade to Dynamax" search rather enlightening. Have you searched there? Just curious.

I found two - 1) half pager on the Dynamax forum that included only those items Dynamax has that Renegade does not. 2) two pager very detailed color coded (green/red) on the renegade site done by a consumer which was the more useful of the two. Most of my questions were really asking for opinions which I would still like to hear. I knew the renegade had electric heating pads on the holding tanks and found out later from rep that the aguahot also heats the compartments though no details (eg thermostat controls?) were included. I found a posting on renegade discounts from 2018 that indicated 22-23% was an achievable discount at that time. I assume that has decreased due to available inventory but did not find info posted from more recent purchases. At the end of the day, build quality which I think falls on the renegade side is the most important factor to me personally over price and features as long as the “must have” features are there.
