Renegade Verona theater seating

In anticipation of our 3 month Alaska trip soon, we decide to replace the uncomfortable sleeper couch in our Verona with theater seating.

Yes, it is now available for 2020 but we also didn't like what Renegade had to offer. After going to a few big RV shows (Tamps and FMCA), looking online etc for RV theater seating, we felt what was available, regardless of cost, was just not comfy or to the quality we liked. We decide on a Seatcraft Republic love seat in top grain leather (tired of cheap pleather or bonded leather etc). Part of the reason for the love seat we selected was that it is electric recline and electric head rest plus it is the EXACT size we needed (72").

The love seat should be here next week and I will keep things up to date with pix to show how it works out.

Forgot to take pix of the removal of old couch, but it was very easy. 4 screws hold the couch to the floor, 4 screws hold the back on. Just remove the strut from the bottom of entrance door so the door will swing complete open and the couch fits nicely through the door. The old couch and new love seat bot are 25" at the arm rest so fit through the 28" door fine as long as you take the back off first.

Also in prep for the trip, while at FMCA, I had the Winegard in-motion sat dome replaced with a RF Mogul open array sat dish as the domes can't look down far enough for Alaska whereas the open array can. BTW, anyone wanting a good deal on a slightly used in motion dome, let me know.

More to follow on the install next week when the love seat arrives.

Ours came with the standard theater seats and each seat sags towards the end of the unit....not level, IOW. I am going to complain when I go in for warranty work. Will be interested in seeing what the Seatcraft looks like.

I got rid of the dreaded sofa after one night in the rig, replacing with standard theater seating. wish I would have gone this route because Renegade was more than fair in the unit but shipping hurt quite a bit and its comfy but hard to flip up and down. Looks like seatcraft is local to me.

As of today it is $1500 and free shipping (I paid $1539).

BTW, I have no connection with REV, Renegade or Seatcraft/4seating.

For me the key was the love seat is 72" which is exactly the space the original couch fit in.

Ziggy. Keep us posted. Interested in if you have enough depth for the recliner. Have replaced sofa on a couple of previous rvs and always found the depth due to the slope of the back was deeper than advertised. Your opinion once set up will be of interest. Replaced all the foam in the renegade supplied sofa over a year ago and it was much better ( also rebuilt the springs to much stiffer) but I know eventually I’ll want a replacement.

Ziggy - which Seatcraft model did you select? The shorter models were either 62" or 73" - I didn't see anything at 72". All looked great and clearances were reasonable - if accurate.

We ordered our 2019 LE with the recliners - not sure that was a good choice as they are not good quality. We had to have one replaced because it slanted significantly to one side. Now the lever to open the foot rest requires super human strength - now going back to get that fixed.

Did you order the Red 7000 Leather... lol

Jcat:

We ordered this one in brown 7000 leather:

https://4seating.com/seatcraft-repub...eater-loveseat

If you scroll down the page a bit, you'll see it is 72" (73 won't fit) and I would have preferred 68, but 72 will work.

We had the manual recliners in another coach and they were just OK but you had recline or upright and little adjustment in between. All the manual ones we tried acted pretty much the same way. With electric recline you have infinite seat angle adjustment from upright to full recline. The one thing I wish they had (only found one theater seat set with it) is electric foot rest with it's own motor as sometimes I like the seat reclined somewhat but my feet on the ground as opposed to on the foot rest.

As I mentioned, forgot to take pix removing the original couch, but here is the empty space awaiting it's new love seat.

Paul - thanks for the link - I was only looking in the Seatcraft Site. Looks like you could sleep away the night comfortably in those recliners.

All controls are on the inside. That was part of the reason we chose tose seats as we wouldn't be able to reach the outside controls.

Looks like its not a wall hugger... I hope you don't have to install it way out.

It is a wall huger, but 6" (the same distance the original was away from the wall. The tightest wall hugers are 3", so no big deal for 3".

I'll let you know and will have pix when finished. Hoping it will be here this week. Next week should be the latest (should be lol)

I see its listed as a wallhugger with 6" clearance but the dimensions say different

A. Seat Height: 44"
B. Footprint: 38"
C. T.V. Position: 52" (Seatback up)
D. Full Recline: 65" (Seatback fully reclined)

You may want to give them a call just to be sure.

Frank
