The IDU is inside the coach. Would have to ask Winegard about location of the mother board.

IDU...Indoor Control Unit...is not the brain. The mother board is up top in the antenna so, if anything goes wrong the entire unit must be shipped back to the factory for repair. I have been told that the time involved for the entire repair process is at least a month. Then there is the cost of packing and shipping.

Both the Traveler and the RF Mogul are good units with a small failure rate. And the Mogul is more expensive to buy and to install. So I am sure all things balance out in the end. I have not made a final decision on which one to buy... could go either way depending on the circumstances.

Replacing Satellite Question

Mogul vs travler ..pay more up front (500$?) for the mogul or pay 2- 300 shipping and hassle IF the winegard should fail. I suspect the failure rates may be similar. Winegard sells thousands more units than mogul. Tough call , but the mogul does have that cool light on the reflector

I have replace the in motion antennas on two of our coaches. I replaced both with Winegard Trav'lers using Dish. I added 2 receivers in both coaches so we could watch different programming in the front and rear of the coach. My first one was done on a Dynamax (5) years ago, last year we traded up to a Haulmark and it was the first change I made. I have never had any problems and my experience has been very positive. I did the change myself and have included pictures.

I live just down the road. Can you recommend a tech or company to do the install?

I purchased my Renegade at Holland Motor Homes in Michigan. I live up here in the summers and they did the install.

North Trail sell Renegades and could do the install. They also sell the satellite Trav'ler. You have to supply the receivers
