Sanitize water

I have just purchased a 2022 Renegade Villagio 25' and the dealer doesn't seem to know much about it. Just starting going through the manual (which isn't very good) and it says to sanitize the water tank before use. I turn the Anderson valve to winterize and attached hose to bring in bleach. I turn on pump in the unit but it does not draw the water in. Any help?

sanitize water

I read enough in this forum to go with the fill the city water hose with Clorox and kept it simple. I have a long time to worry why it doesn't work on the winterize setting

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

Congrats on the new rig! Do you have a gravity-fill opening into the freshwater tank? If so, you could use that.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

If you don't have a gravity fill port, there is a company that makes makes a fill port that connects between your hose and water service connection.

You fill the box with bleach as fill your tank. You refill the box to use the proper solution mix based on your fresh water tank size.

Btw, you can't use your winterize setting because it doesn't enter your tank, just the lines to all the water fixtures.

Thanks for the info! My Renegade manual says to use the winterize setting with the Anderson valve to get the chorine solution into the tank. I have found that their manual addresses multiple models and I have clearly seen instructions that wouldn't apply but they don't tell you that. Thanks!
