Sanitizing RV water systems
None of the post above say anything about the hot water tank. This is MOST important!!! Most have heard of Legionnaire's disease. The optimum temperature for this bacteria to grow and thrive is 90 to 120 degrees. The hot water tank is a perfect zone for growth.
The biofilm that forms in water containers becomes the media for the bacteria to grow on. Simply "flushing" the system with fresh water will not remove this film nor the bacteria growing on it.
Chlorine is a great antibacterial solution but please run it through your ENTIRE water system.
