Solar Charger cooking house battery 2021 Valencia

Just informing... We started to have high house battery (The Lg. 8D Battery) volts. The high volts cooked the 8D house Battery. All appearances and advice seemed to point to. Maybe the 8D was getting week and then was acting up (so to speak) and self destructed basically. After installing a new one. I kept a close eye on it. All was good at first. Then started noticing high voltage spikes. Tested different components, etc.

I turned out to be something in the Solar charger went bad. Now I have found out. This is not an uncommon thing. Just wanted to let you know. In case you start seeing voltage getting real high. This may be well worth checking. 250.00 +/- Solar charger is much better than the 1000.00 +/- battery to replace sort of thing :-))).

By the way those 8D AGM battery's are a pretty heavy lift... (160 LBS. +/-) :-). happy travels....

Have a peaceful and content journey forward!

Same thing happened to my house battery, Woody stated it was due to the Jaboni controller going bad and pushing over 18 Volts. I now have the newer Jaboni controller and all is working.

I plan to change the Jaboni in my Verona to a Victron. Too many issues with the Jaboni's.
