TPMS Low Voltage

My 2022 Verona TPMS (Tire Pressure Management System) has started flashing a yellow light and displaying low voltage. Any chance this is a relatively easy fix... or shop item? I called local tire shops and they don't do trucks as large as Freightliner so guessing this might be a Freightliner repair. Thanks, Rick

You might have the information you need in the owners/users manual. Do you have it?

Thanks... I'll check the Freightliner manual next time I'm over there.

It most likely means the batteries in the senders in the tire are low on at least one of them.

Most likely, the batteries in your TPMS transmitters are bad. The problem is they are mounted internal to the tire and not owner replaceable. The only way to fix the issue is to dismount the tires and replace the transmitter batteries. I use a TST 507 TPMS system that I had on my previous Tiffin (which let's me monitor my Jeep toad as well) and just ignore the warning light on the Freightliner dashboard.

I found the TPMS manual but it doesn't address the Volts alarm. I called the Freightliner place (about an hour from our house) and they indicated that they could likely repair it. I'll probably take it in to them in a few weeks. Will keep you posted on the outcome.

It does seem strange that this would happen on a relatively new unit. I've had TPMS before without issue.

The batteries on this specific system that Freightliner uses last about 3 years or so. If you hop onto the Facebook Renegade group, you will see this is a super common problem. The aftermarket TPMS systems are much more reliable than the OEM Freightliner system, plus you can place the monitor at eye level rather than down by your knees. It will be interesting to see what Freightliner tells you, most have said the cost to repair the system to not worth it as you can go aftermarket for a much better setup.

That's great to know and much appreciated. I don't do social media so not a Facebook member. Would you mind telling me which are the most popular aftermarket TPMS's? Thanks!

Just looked above and see you use TST 507. Checked it out and it looks like the right way to go. Again, very much appreciated.

I like Tireminder I10 because it shows all tires on the screen. TST scrolls through each tire and makes you take your eyes off the road too long. Both are quality units

My TST is about 5 years old and there are more current models available. Like Outlawten5 said, I would check out Tireminder as well. Both seem to be well respected brands.

Thanks again to both of you for the recommendations. I can't tell you how excited I am to have solutions short of taking her in to Freightliner.
