VictronPlus 12/3000 charger settings
VictronPlus 12/3000 how do I set charging settings for the batteries? I have the Cerbo GX but cannot find where to set them. Do I need to use the VEConfigure3 software?
Thanks for the help

I set mine to "CHARGE ONLY" while stationary (storage or camping) and "ON" while driving. Many set it to ON all the time, which will also charge your batteries, but if you lose shore power, which can happen, the inverter will drain your house batteries causing damage you may be unable to recharge them depending on their age and how drained they are, exception being Lithium batteries. If set to "CHARGE ONLY" and the lights go out or ACs shutdown, I know the park or the pedestal have lost power. I was at a park once that lost power due to thunderstorms and after losing power I started the generator to avoid draining my house batteries. Fortunately, it was only for a couple hours.
Good luck!

You have to have usb to MK3 cable or VE.Direct cable and run victron connect on a laptop.

Thanks for the info, I do have that cable. In my old Victron system before the Cerbo GX I could adjust on the screen and buttons, but they do not offer that screen control unit any more. I do not want to say how long I have looked on the GX for setting charger settings

On my 2022 Newmar 3709 with both a Cerbo GX and GX touch display and Victron inverter, there are some battery charging settings under "DVCC" settings. I think the Cerbo Gx manual has some guidance about this area as well. Before changing anything in the DVCC settings areas, you should write down what the manufacturer settings are in case you need to go back to them. I have searched the web looking for information about these settings, but have yet to find any definitive guidance. Its almost like the RV manufacturers don't want you to change a thing, other that what operation mode you want the inverter to be in, ie on/off, inverter only, charger only or off. On Newmar's owner's pages, they restrict access to setting instructions to technicians only. They seem to assume that you always have 50 amp power and are plugged in all the time and have no understanding about anything and they don't want you to touch it. For instance it is not clearly explained in my Victron owners manual when needing to set maximum amp charging levels if they are talking amp levels at 12 volts or amps at 120 volts. I had a Newmar help desk person tell me I always needed at least 30 amp power when in storage. At that point in time I had been on a non-GFCI 15 amp circuit for months, but only running my refrigerator and keeping batteries fully charged.
One thing to note, in my particular Newmar coach, the Auto generator start parameters are controlled out side of the Victron controls.

Ok I guess they still make to other control screen I had, (Color Control GX Communication Center). With that can I change settings, or do I need to use a computer?
Next question is it better to use the DVCC function or program each?
Right now have a MPPT, and Multiplus inverter, but planed dc to dc and second inverter.
The other question I have is on the RV is a (LiFePO4 Battery Isolation Manager (BIM)), when it is getting power from the running alternator will it fool the MPPT that the batteries are full and stop the solar charging?

DVCC just wraps up all of your charging components and manages them in 1 place. I still program each device individually the way I'd want it charging if the Cerbo wasn't present. That way if there is an issue, network issue, whatever - the device will use the charge/float voltage I want. The big benefit to it is it limits overall charging to batteries from DC to DC, inverter/charger, solar, etc. You can set max amps across all of your charging devices and the Cerbo will make sure the entire Victron ecosystem never sends more than that.
