We have just ordered a new 2022 Valencia 35mb, This coach has a residential Fridge. We have always had a Dometic fridge and these have special storage racks to prevent the food and bottles for moving around. We were looking for ideas from those of you that have been there done that.. thanks

Not sure which residential refrigerator you will have. Ours is a Frigidaire single "wide" with freezer on top an refrigerator on bottom. Our door has fairly deep bins and we put most of the breakables and bottles in these bins in the door.

As for the shelves in the refrigerator and freezer, it makes a significant difference how your refrigerator is oriented. We have a rear kitchen with the refrigerator in the very back with the doors opening toward the front. We don't have a lot of problem with things shifting around on the shelves, but tend to place things that won't hurt shifting on the shelves. Ours has a thumb screw that threads in between the refrigerator and freezer door to hold both doors shut and its never been a problem. Others have indicated that their residential refrigerators came with either no or inadequate door locks. Look closely at what type of lock you have before loading up and adjust accordingly. I've seen advice from child safety locks to straps but you want to make absolutely sure that the door can't unintentionally open during travel.

Finally, the go to for keeping things in place so they don't fall out when opening the door after travel seems to be one or more spring loaded curtain rods wedged in place in front of the food on each of the shelves. I believe that Camco or some of the RV product manufacturers make essentially the same thing for like 10x the price.

These can be helpful in cabinets as well.

We looked at the metal drink racks, but but they were a little deeper and extended into door storage space. These are the ones where you put a drink on the top shelf and it rolls back and down to the lower level. The plastic ones linked to above are move compact and fit better.

For salad dressing and bottles that easily tip over, we have a couple of bins like these. They come in numerous sizes. We also have some in the overhead cabinets to keep bags of chips contained.

Make sure you measure the depth of your fridge so you don't get bins that are too deep and won't fit.

We use a couple different tricks in our Fisher & Paykel. It has glass shelves so we used some rubber matting (Cheap Dollar store place mats) to discourage sliding, and for the tippy stuff, a few various plastic baskets or bins. We use taller bins for the tall skinny stuff, and cheap Dollar store baskets for shorter stuff.

We use non slip material on all shelves in the refrigerator. Tall skinny items go in door shelves. Did use bins initially but aren’t using them any longer. We found that with the non slip material and if there is enough food in the fridge that we can just put a few larger items around lighter items and nothing moves.

We use clear plastic bins with rubber feet, and put items in bins according to type of food. While items within a bin can move around a bit, it keeps everything largely in place.
