Are Electric Class A Motorhomes Coming?
Our City of Asheville has begun replacing its LNG buses with electric buses built with the new Proterra energy pack. Proterra claims it’s muni bus packs have a range of 340 miles. That seem to be about the range needed to make electric Class A motorhomes realistic. Curious if anybody has heard any industry rumblings about the potential of building Proterra packs into RVs?

How about building a Super C on a tesla semi chassis. Solid 500 miles of real world range. 82000 lb capacity. Established charging network (albeit at a slower rate than the megawatt it’s capable of charging at). It’s just a matter of an integrator getting there hands on one. I don’t think Pepsi will give up any of there allotment.

Too big and you need a CDL, not to mention cost. Plenty of EV trucks coming out.

Yah could be. But that might be regional. Here you would need an air ticket but not a CDL.
We have seen quite a few super C’s on the road. There must be a market.

Just a matter of time before we see a full electric super C - expect it will take a few years until it happens.
Tesla semi cab isn’t currently setup for a typical couple to travel, single seat centered in the middle of the cab. ��

My stealth camping version of this is to take my Silverado EV (waiting ... until ... 2024) and put a bed in the back with the mid gate folded down. With one of those zippy OEM shells on the bed would be a nice, secure and climate controlled enclosed camper. I'll bring my induction cooktop and some bits and bobs and make tea in the back in the morning, and breakfast outside, all off the onboard power. Heck I'll stick a portapotty back there if I don't feel like sharing the facilities with our two legged or four legged friends, depending on where I'm at.
Should be pretty awesome, your head in the cab portion, and you can leave the glass top mid gate in to keep the climate power usage down as it's mainly managing the cab. If you want a sunroof you also get a view of the stars

I’m sure in the not to distance future you will see an all electric Class A or Super C’s. I would advise caution in believing the mileage numbers just as for gas or diesel ratings. Just as on the road charging infrastructure for current EV’s is a work in progress, charging stations for big rigs is probably further down the road. But it will happen. Still interested in the long term impact of EV’s in used vehicle market.
