Elon might be a complete knob in most areas of his public life, but the Tesla cars are amazing.
It IS possible for two things to be true at the same time though: Yes, he needs to staff up thousands of open positions at both giant factories, plus the battery factory. The other thing that can be true is that he DOES tend to flush the OFFICE staff every few years, as a way to keep the ideas and people fresh (and overworked).
There are LOTS of "former" Tesla employees b/c his work environment is famously high pressure, just like Bezos and Amazon. Maybe there is something to the idea that if you demand ridiculous levels of productivity from your staff - you burn them out, but you also make a trainload of money in the process? If you are a greedy sociopath, that's no big deal. Hmm.

Soooo Good to hear from an informed individual... I suspect the biggest problem is that the politicians regulating those industries are heavily invested in those same industries and feeding their constituents slanted information to further their own ends..

Farming is not a go by the fuel gauge and quit when the gauge is low. When you are planting and harvesting the hours you put in are dictated by the weather. It is common to run 18 hours or more when the conditions are right.

I grew up on a farm and live amongst farms today. They often run day and night. They would have to have multiple tractors or combines to run they way they do and still have charge time. You can't just take a new battery that weighs thousands of pounds into the field to refuel one.

Exactly! Right now the whole govt is into the green new deal. You better believe that our lawmakers are involved and invested. The pressure is on to all the manufacturers to develop this fantasy.

I was raised on a farm, worked on ranches, drove tractor trailers involved in agriculture, and the after the Army worked 32 years for the Federal Govt. I've seen quite a bit.
I can tell you from experience that when the top of govt adopts a slogan, it's like an octopus. It can and will put tremendous pressure on everyone it touches to go along or else.
Every administration I worked under had its own program that everyone had to adhere to. This "Green New Deal" is just another one.
I have no doubt that EVs will find a place in our society, but not to the extent that is being pushed right now.
California is already asking residents not to plug in during peak power usage times. Can you imagine a few thousand plugging into the power grid of Mexico City, Calcutta, or practically any third world country? They simply are not ready for it.

Do you know what comes out of a farm tractor's exhaust pipe? Nitrogen, water vapor and carbon dioxide. Plants love all three. They are all necessary for plants to grow. Plants love diesel engines.

Well, there you go trying to confuse people with reality. Give it up, it doesn't fit their narrative.😂

The second is about Deer's acquisition of an Austrian company to help develop EVs.
Neither mentions anything about the government forcing the issue. It looks like Deere is making a business decision to follow the inevitable and be the first.

I can't think of anything dumber than to have battery electric tractors plowing our fields. I'm sure the engineers at Deere know it's preposterous. Obviously the management does, too, but somehow they figured out they can make money off this. My question is, where is this money coming from? Certainly no farmer in his right mind would pay extra money for such a ridiculous machine.

Wonder if the lithium strip mines are using BEVs to scratch out and haul out the raw materials.

Reading comprehension? A direct quote from the link.
They are being pushed by the lefty Democrats in the government to force these electric machines on the American farmer. These people are out of control.
