Looks like Ford F-150 Lightning might be a winner for Ford.

Interesting read.

victim of their own poor planning and success. The Lightning is the most familiar to traditional truck buyers. Build a charging network and they might have something. Thanks for sharing though, interesting read.

I can’t help but think it would be a good idea for Ford to add a couple of high speed chargers at every dealer in North America. Although not a great place to have them as far as amenities go, from the point of view of the dealership you would have a captive client at the dealer for 15 or 20 minutes, looking around checking out new product etc. If they are open to other brands even better, as one could use it as a draw to get people on the lot. Maybe open a muffin bar with a barista like Tesla. Right now ford shows their new Mach E mustangs in commercials charging at Electrify America stations, which is a Volkswagen company.

Just sayin. Ford might think of trying to keep customers coming to their dealerships...because if they are driving EV’s they won’t be going there much for maintenance. .

of course the problem with putting chargers at stealerships is that they will inevitably be blocked by ICE vehicles, because the neanderthals will ignore every bit of signage to the contrary.

I agree and this happens now at Nissan dealerships (or did when we owned our leaf anyway) But eventually EV's will be their bread and butter and I would think it would be in their best interests to have any reason to attract clients to the dealership, even for a 15 or 20 minute charge. And maybe their own branded high speed chargers in their ads instead of Volkswagens.

I think Rivian is wise in mimicking Tesla and developing their own private network. Private networks make for a better fast charge experience, at least in our experience.
