The bill mentioned is actually not a mandate but a proposal that requires further development and study to know the impacts on the economy, environment, and people. It sets a goal, but does not set any rules as to how the goal will be met. That is to come later, and that's when the nuts-and-bolts issue of how all cars sold or registered in the state are to be electric, will be hashed out.

The Washington bill deals with "light duty" vehicles. The result will be to force people into cheaper heavy duty diesel vehicles.

Much to do about nothing.
Next up the only composting toilets in all residential units.

My wife (from Norway) had an uncle that tried one of those! Turned out to be a stinker of an idea! Her aunt wasn't impressed, she was put in charge of it because he would have nothing to do with it.

HUH ?
Cannot fathom why I would ever want to venture into any west coast states with the current cults mentality.

I have noticed this too. The EV fad seems to be concentrated on the West coast.

No, they won't be going away. They have some interesting and useful features that will keep them around. But they won't become ubiquitous. They are simply too expensive. Just think of the millions of poor people who wouldn't be able to own a car.
