I have three at home that I use when I don't want to run the whole house A/C. They work great but, as others have mentioned, you will have to run a hose out a window to exhaust the hot air. I made a plexiglass adapter to hook the hose up to and fit into the open window space. There are also some other things to look for when making this purchase:
1) Buy one that is self dehydrating meaning, no drain hose to drain the condensate. All three of mine are self dehydrating and work great.
2) These come in single or double hose, one exhaust and one intake. I have one double hose that I did take with me on a camping trip where I knew it was going to be over 110 F and even though it worked great, the double hose is a pain in the butt octopus that takes up a lot of space and really needs a window close to it.
3) Size- You will need to consider how much floor space you want to give up for the unit. I have a small Black and Decker 8,000btu in my office and it has a very small footprint. I don't know if that small of a unit will cool your new camper down enough so something to think about.
Last, does your new camper have a roof ac option, or does it come prewired for one? In my opinion, a roof unit is the best choice, takes no space and will probably do the best job but I will admit, the portable units are much quieter.
Good Luck with your decisions and Safe Travels!
