There are several posting on that thread who have sources saying there is a 'buyer' and that EC will continue to be a player in the TC world.

I work for an EC dealer, and can confirm that this is true. EC is bankrupt, and the doors were closed. Other than that, there is no word on anything.

We knew it was coming. They had not paid any of our warranty claims for some time now. We thought for sure that they would have filed sooner because they didn't handle the slow down last winter too well. They went as far as to send one of their people down to make a repair that we tried to get authorization for.

I know the sales manager, he told me there is a potential buyer in the works. he told me 99% chance. That may be optimistic, but who knows.

Never had to use the warranty on my '03 EC 950 anyway - well built camper!

Guess my avatar will become a collectors item for a fallen flag mfg...

*I* feel sorry for the Artic Fox owners with their poorly engineered tiedowns tearing right out of the camper. They have to send the camper back to Oregon to get newly engineered tiedowns installed.

Roadranger-

Seems you recent post is kinda nasty.

I posted this subject so that people that are currently looking for a new Camper won't go into a dealer and be unaware. I thought that is what this site was all about. I hardly think that posting and "alleged" defect that an owner of an A. Fox is the same thing. At least the owner of an Arctic Fox has a warranty.

By the way, it appears that in fact the repair was made satisfactory with that owner.

Why such a nasty post? I guess it hit a nerve...

Bankruptcy has not been filed. The doors are closed, and nobody's home, but no paperwork has been filed. There is a chance that the doors will open back up.

That is more of less the sense I got from a phone conversation with their sales manager. The LeGrande Chamber of Commerce, however, told me they were bankrupt. Either way, there are finacial difficulties & they are closed until a buyer is found.
