F350 DRW with no camper package?

Good day, all. We have a 2021 F350 DRW with 8 foot bed. The payload is over 6,000 pounds.

What am I missing with no "camper package"?

Is the truck suitable for a camper as-is or would I need to add some accessories or suspension modifications?

Thanks!Click image for larger version

So I'm good to go with no modifications to front springs? Thanks for the information.

Wow, looks like a healthy payload number for just about any TC you want. Do you have a model in mind?

I don’t have anything specific in mind. We have a 28’ bumper pull that we will keep so I may get something simple for my own use. I’m hoping to go to the Dallas RV show this year with my wife as we haven’t seen a modern one in person.

Some of the places we’ve been this week make me yearn for the the simpler parking of a truck mounted camper.

Thanks for the comment and best wishes!

Joe

So for $160 you get................. possibly nothing.....................

The Camper Package is optional on XL, XLT, LARIAT and King Ranch®, Platinum (DRW)
Includes:
• Extra heavy-service front springs (4x2) (2-up upgrade above the spring that has been computer-selected based on other selected options. Not included if maximum springs have been computer-selected as standard equipment.)
• Heavy-service front springs (4x4) (1-up upgrade above the spring that has been computer-selected based on other selected options. Not included if maximum springs have been computer-selected as standard equipment.)
• Rear auxiliary springs (F-250 only; standard on F-350)
• Rear stabilizer bar (SRW only)
• Slide-in camper certification

Considering my just shy of 5,000 lb camper changed the front spring weight from empty truck by 20 lbs and my old 5thwheel change the front by 40lbs.... I wouldn't' worry about the front springs. option on the truck
Snow plow sure.

Do yourself a favor and ignore that sticker...Pretty confident it's well... not accurate in the way most people would interpet it as.

Find the other sticker with GVW and axle ratings, empty the truck of junk and such that isn't important, Then go find a Scale, CAT scale is popular but any scale will work... then go weight your truck after you fill it up with fuel.
Take your total weight - GVW rating and that is how much Camper you can carry. keep in mind other people and pets, food, clothing, camper tie downs, wood ETC all count so you can't just go well truck is good for 6k go and put a 6k camper and you will be very sad.

FYI Front weight and Rear axle weight are important to get as well. here is some decent info https://catscale.com/how-to-weigh/

Why i suspect it is off is most of us add options to the truck which eats into this number, hitches, lights, wheels, tires, add ons, bed liner ETC. At the end of the day the scale dictate all. As an example my turck empty = I have a few tools, TP, tow chain, amp steps, bedliner hitch, dirt, flashlight somehow add up to 1053 lb. over what dodge says my curb weight is... yes I can scale down a few items but you know the dog likes her bed.
