Lance 1152 leaking when water pump is turned on

Hello I have a 2014 Lance 1152 camper and as of 2 days ago out of the blue when I turn on my water pump there is hardly any water that comes out of any place (sink, bathroom, Shower) and then outside there is massive amounts of water leaking out. I’m a first time camper owner and any help or advice or links would be helpful.

Does the battery being dead affect that aspect at all?

Water pump connection

Since water comes out only when you turn on your pump, it is most likely a connection after your water pump. 1st place to start is to find your water pump and check the output fitting. if not that, you will need to trace it down to your faucets until you find the leak. water inside the camper box is not good so find and fix it asap... good luck!

Dead battery would not cause a water leak.

It may be as simple as the low water point valve being open or a disconnected or broken fitting. As others stated, you will need to explore the plumbing lines and repair asap.

Yup! Me too….except my pump housing itself cracked at the filter, and I needed a new pump.

That would be the first place I’d look.

And, by the way, the pump wouldn’t operate if the battery was dead.

You haven’t said where the water is coming from when it’s leaking outside…..do you have an outdoor shower, perhaps?

Just another thought.

As mentioned above, you must find the leak before running any more water. Water can destroy an rv. The walls, floor, & framing will soak up the water & any plywood will get spongy & expand. When it finally dries, it can leave a weakened structure & have mold, which can cause health problems. A small leak can be a minor problem, but the gushing water you're talking about can cause major problems. Once you find the problem & correct it, do everything you can to dry out the affected area as quickly as possible. With that much water potentially absorbed by the walls & floors, the wicking action will continue to spread the damage until you dry it out thoroughly. Water damage is the worst possible problem in rvs, & causes the death of more rvs than probably anything else. Carpeting, or vinyl floors can be replaced, but the underlying structure of walls, plywood floors, & framing, are too expensive to justify repairing, unless it's just a small, localized area.
