Lance electical outlets

1999 Lance. I have an inside outlet that I believe has a poor wire connection. The box and outlet are all one. I don't know how to get it apart to check for connections. Any help?

Welcome to iRV2.

Sorry you're here with problems .
I believe , I once worked on the type of outlet you're describing . they are used in thin walls that don't have room for a standard outlet box. Power cable goes in one end and out the other with no visible connections.
Is there any chance you could post a couple of pictures of what you've got , that might jog my memory as to how I got it apart.
Info on posting pictures is in the " FAQ " drop box , center of the dark blue bar under the Google search box.
I looked online but could come up with an image of the outlet as I remember it.

Unopen outlet box

Thanks for your offer. Actually, I was able to open the outlet box by gently prying with a flat screwdriver. I see now that is the way to open it but I was afraid something would break.
Now, my tester indicates an "open ground" but the ground in that outlet seems fine. It is the type that you push in.
Thanks again

I did eventually find a picture of the outlet ; with a snap off back ; on the internet , under mobile home wiring . I remember at the time I worked on it that the connections really couldn't be trusted , but there was no room to fit a regular outlet into the wall.
Then I got my coach and there was the answer , both GFICs in the coach have extender bezels that stand 1/2" out of the wall to allow them to be mounted in an outside wall.
If you need to go to a standard outlet with screws to hold the connections , there are options, as long at having the outlet 1/2" out of the wall won't be in the way.
