Loose Sewer Hose Connection

I recently purchased a 1991 Lance truck camper, mainly to use for hunting and fishing forays in the mountains. I trashed the old sewer hose due to its poor condition and lack of sewer inlet connections, and replaced it with a new hose and new connections. First trip out when I went to dump the holding tanks the new hose and connections did not seal against the old dump outlet. Checked for a gasket and it was present and in good condition. After getting home I tried several sewer connectors and none would tighten against the dump outlet. Checked the dump outlet for damage and it is in good condition with no damage and no apparent wearing, and the bayonet mounts are good with no visible wear that would cause a loose fit. We've had numerous rigs in the past; several truck campers, 3 class As, a class B, and a class C, and never had such an issue. I can make a thin rubber ring and add to the gasket, or replace it with an O ring, but I'm totally stumped as to why none of the many sewer fittings I have will not seal against the outlet. Any thought on the issue???

Could the outlet have a crack that opens up as the hose fitting latches onto the barbs?

all 4 barbs hooking in?

I had a similar issue that perplexed me the first few dumps when I used a new yet leaking hose/fitting. Turned out the bottom barb (of the 4) wasn't catching because the new rubber seal wasn't pressed all the way in. Since it was the bottom one, I couldn't see it very well (& who wants to look under a leaky poop hose)...
