It seemed to me that the basement campers with a lower bed and easier access to it were also farther off the ground requiring more steps to get into the camper. It didn't appear easy to run a hand hold all the way to the bottom of the steps, which would be needed by folks with poor balance like me. A trade off of sorts. We chose the more difficult to get into bed.

A few years ago a friend suggested that I try Saw Palmetto to reduce nighttime trips to the potty. I did and it seemed to help. I usually make about one trip during the night.

You need the Torklift hand rail that they call the GlowGuide:

This is the rail mounted to a seven-step stair on my previous camper.

Just a thought for the OP. As long as you are looking for a different RV.I would look at some of the handicapped accessible Class As. They have some good used ones out there.

Thats exactly how I get out of bed!!! Wife and i picked up a old 1999 Lance 1030 that we took down to Keywest in September for a month (shhh don't tell anyone!) I can't seem to edit my signature to add the Lance.

I added a 3" foam/gel topper and it was definitely harder to get out of and was a killer on my back.

I sent the topper back and gave the mattress away. I should be getting my hybrid mattress in a box tomorrow...... we'll see. It can't be as bad as what I had and keeping my fingers crossed it's better.

Wondering how the hybrid mattress worked for you?

So far so good, we've only used it maybe 15 nights but's that's enough to know it's a decent improvement. It's far better than the foam topper.

After getting the greenlight procedure on my prostrate I went from getting up several times during the night to never needing to get up once to relieve myself. When you can empty your bladder 100% it makes a word of difference.
