Rear Seat Deleting

Hello all. New here to iRV2 and digging it.

Like many, we've downsized from a larger RV's to a new Tuck Camper.
We really love the Wolf Creek 890 and love the flexibility it gives us.
But with all Truck Campers, space is limited.

We have a 3/4 week trek coming up in July and need to find everything a home. I stumbled onto the "rear seat delete" concept and lots of neat custom set-ups.

Curious who here may have done that already?
Any suggestions? Pics?

Thank you!!

G

What truck do you have? My F350 allows the rear seat to be folded up. You can put a single air mattress back there when that’s done.

Downsizing to a truck camper from a bigger RV, you're going to have too much stuff period.
You need to decide what you need vs what you want.

Do it!

Removing the rear seat was one of the best upgrades It is very easy to do on Ford and Ram. I wrapped the seats in plastic and stored them, just in case. I then built a removable platform from 7/16 OSB to create a flat and level surface for heavy items like my 90 lb power station, the Starlink and camping chairs that don't fit in any of the storage compartments. I run the 30 Amp power cord from the camper through the rear window so that I never have to take the power station out, I also run the generator cable through the rear window when I have to charge the batteries in the power station. Tint the rear windows or cover them to prevent strangers from looking in. However, if you're planning to cross international borders make sure you can still roll the windows down so the border officers can see inside.

Thank you all for the responses.

Hpozzuoli,
I have an older 2001 F350 with a full bench in the back.
The back portion will fold forward to access behind it, but thats it.
I wish I had a single jump seat back there.

08Carriage,
You are correct there.
Fortunately it's just my wife and I now and downsizing
will be a little easier now. It's been about 4 years since selling our old toy hauler and dirt bikes and we are looking at our new camper with a clean slate for our new "check list" (and it evolves every time we go out

Cypressloser,
I think thats the direction I need to go.

Camp Chairs, Canopy, Outdoor Table, Gas Stove, Bike riding gear, Fishing Gear, Prospecting gear, TOOLS, back up E-cooler, extra water, Jackery gen/solar panels......

And it needs to be modular so I can turn the truck back into the "mule" when needed.

July is our big multi week trip up into OR/WA, So I need to get on this.

Cheers all.

Well finally got the Rear seat out and built a shelving unit
Also center under-shelf for my tools and road hazard gear.
And an area for fluids as well..
It will morph as we use it and determine the best places for stuff.

Pics to come once I figure out how....

I kept the back seat. Sometimes there's riders. This was my solution. Just an option. On the back side it holds a Hi-lift jack & shovel.
Most of these things I wouldn't have it a back seat anyway.
It's important to have a way to strap down heavy items. They been known to be deadly in in rollover accident. Pray none of us ever have one but best to be prepared.

I can't take out the rear seat as I need a place for the dog and the occasional grandson, but why didn't you remove the seat backs also? that could have gotten you and extra 8" or so of space at the bottom and 5 to 6" at the top.
