Thoughts and opinions on Eagle cap 1200 vs Host Mammoth TC

Wife and I are starting to look at our next RV. We like the idea of TC but want a larger unit. I have been doing research on both and I like both. We like bits of each unit. I have not bought the truck but Im leaning towards a Ford F450. Not wanted to start a war just want opinions on quality, customer support and over all thoughts of these units from owners.

Thank you.

KC

If you look at both like I did you will know right away, my dealer had both on the lot so it was easy to go back and fourth. I then toured the factories and liked the way the Host was built (Framed in windows), I liked the slide out for storage, I liked the table that moves all directions, I like the smokey interior and cabinets. I like the fireplace I don't know if that is an option on the 1200.

So far it's working out great.

Also check out the Host Yukon layout. If you prefer more customization, Host is more flexible than Eagle Cap.

Hugh, talk about a site being biased....Host must pay them a lot.
Host and Eagle do both make sweet campers though..
Cant go wrong with either IMO.

If you met Mello Mike and talked with him and then met Gordon and Angela, you would have to retract that bias claim. It is an eye opener to talk to these people in real life to find out why they have Internet presence...

I have read and seen a lot of MM's Posts and from those have the opinion that he is a decent guy. When a website only does advertising for a select few that always leads me to conclusions as posted above.

You wanted to know from owners and those top ten are why I purchased a Host all in one spot.

I know this turned into a one sided responce, most people on this site come from owning larger RV's and have been around a long time. EC might have a another site that you could get the other side.

If your conclusion is both are quality then pick the price or floor plan you like and go RV. FYI Host anounced a rebate on their site so make sure you look at that, 2k

Having been a previous shopper, I looked and am on various forums on FB. It will tell you no lies!

Host has issues since 2018.

But the leak issues are seriously abundant in past 2 years are seriously no joke. I think to ignore that fact is crazy.

Seams not calked along cabover that leaks into cabover
Screws not imbedded above jacks that leak and leave running rust
Door frame leaks to a rot condition under metal frame seals (tray door)
Plumbing that doesn't flex and those drains leak into under compartments

You'll never see these issues unless your accessed onto FB forum...

I forgot to mention, Host went to a front nose cap (like everyone else) this 2020 year (after Feb 2020). Hopefully that fixes some water intrusion issue. But still leaves others, many others.

It seems only the cap area issues would fail quick enough to be noticed within warranty period for people that saw it soon enough...my bet is that people that found it either used their camper where the rain was abundant or was stored outside.

BE AWARE OF 2018-2019 USED UNITS....

Please post some pics or site actual examples. The only people I know on FB are kids so I'm not on nor are any of my friends on there.

I feel TerryCamper has a bias against Host based on his post history. I have not experienced the problems he describes after 3 years of Host ownership while using it twice a month year round.
