Upgrading to 2500 Silverado

We have taken the plunge and ordered a 2022 2500 Silverado to replace our 2007 1500 Silverado. We have a 2100lb home built slide in. On the 1500 we upgraded to LT tires and airbags, it worked fairly well, but we also knew we were questionably safe/legal.. The rated payload for the 2500 is +/- 3700 lbs., we did order it with the "camper" front springs, they were not much money and we figured the centre of gravity moves fairly far forward when the camper is in. Will we be okay with this configuration or do we still have to consider heavier rear springs or air bags?

Hopefully we get it in time for spring 2022, my cousin ordered a new truck last December and got it mid summer this year.

"The rated payload for the 2500 is +/- 3700 lbs."

Rated payload..
*Was that actual payload/Camper Weight Rating for your specific truck/trim
*Was that published rating

That homebuilt camper....2100#
*Fully loaded/camp ready weight
*Dry weight

That NEW 2500 should handle that camper OK W/O rear suspension mods

Delivery Date

Hi Mike

We have no date yet, the dealer hoped to get a build date sometime this week. We have not heard from him yet. His guess when we did the build was 4-5 months.
