It's not the age....it's the mileage.

Getting older...it beats the alternative

I have lived long enough to realize that growing older is a lot better than the alternative. Happy New Year everyone.

I wonder if Neil Young had it right when he wrote the lyrics, "It's better to burn out than to rust".

I was at a party, I dunno, maybe 20 years ago. Also in attendance was a Rabbi.

I said "...it beats the alternative." He looked me calmly straight in the eyes and said, "You don't *know* that." OK. He was right!

Now I just say I'm not ready. And, that there's only one way to stop aging...

Neil Did have it right. lol Hey we made it this far, why not really enjoy any time left. I buy butter instead of the it's almost butter, i buy a great tasting coffee instead of "what's on sale this week". But i don't pay $25 bucks for that steak. Do what you enjoy, And enjoy what you do.

How did it happen so fast? Seems like only yesterday I could put away a 6 pack in a couple of hours and get up and go to work in the morning. Oh, well, at least I don't have to do the latter.

My motto for years and years (I'm 67 now) has been...

"Growing old is mandatory, growing up, is optional!"

Getting old is just all that 'stuff' you did when you were 20 catching up.

And I did a LOT of stuff............

I think Joe Walsh ( of James Gang fame and best song writer and lead guitarist ever ) put it succinctly when he said ......

I used to drink , party and raise Hell . I don't do it anymore...........but I still know how !
