Backing it up
Does anyone else love to watch other couples trying to back into an RV spot. The swearing, the yelling, I said left, no my left, now pull straight back! Regardless of age or time on the road it happens to us all.

The main reason , I like to be off the road registered and parked by 3 PM.
So I can park with fewer onlookers , and have chairs out and a drink in hand to watch the show that starts at 4:30 .

It is fun to watch. I've seen some that just whip right in and some take 30-45 minutes.
Fortunately my wife is trained if I need he help and just points the direction to go - and she knows to stay in sight of the mirror.

"If I wanted your help I'd of asked for it". That was the comment I got when I tried to stop someone backing his trailer into a campsite a couple sites from mine. I ran over and waved at him and he ignored me so I hollered stop. That's when he hollered back at me.
Ok, fine, I turned and walked away. I had to look back though when I heard the scraping and crunching as he was backing over an aluminum and wooden picnic table.
I thought he'd ask for help trying to get the table out from under the rear bumper but after a couple attempts he got it out.

Exactly , in sight and if you can't see her you stop !
Directions using only one arm , other by her side .
Most times she couldn't yell loud enough to be heard over the Clatterpillar anyway.
Parking the coach takes about 1/10th. the amount of time that the fivers did.

After years of cruising on a sailboat where someone at the helm with engine running can not hear someone on the foredeck pulling up the anchor, we developed hand/arm signals that we easily modified for backing the motorhome:
If driver does not see spotter in the mirror, the coach does not move. This happens frequently, as spotter checks other side of coach, overhead limbs, etc.
Hand (actually arm) signals:
Waving fully extended left arm, move coach toward the left. Waving faster, means harder to the left.
Waiving fully extended right arm... ya, ya, you get it.
Arms raised on both sides and waved slowly up and down-- slow down.
Arms crossed over their head is stop.
Slit motion to throat means go ahead and kill the motor-- probably happy hour. No, we don't have/need a separate signal for that.

Can you see me now
I too think arm gestures are the best way to assist. I once saw a couple in Quartzsite AZ get stuck in a foot of sand trying to park it. This was a huge Class A too .. there was only one hand gesture used that day lol.

Back when my ex and I used to trailer a 30' boat to the lakes, she worked out a set of hand signals for us:
1 arm up: the water looks icky and cold.
2 arms up: back up, or something.
1 arm waving to the side: look at those people over there!
2 arms waving slowly out to the sides: we need to go back, I forgot my hat!
Jumping up and down: whatever you just did, don't do it again.
In her defense, she was quite fetching in a swimsuit, and so until I got better at backing, we were the people y'all like to watch at the landing.

Dotto AudiDodi & Skip426. Wife goes one additional step, if she REALLY wants me to stop she bangs on side of coach! That gets your attention! So if I see her hand coming up - I stop!
