I fail to see why any "sport" is valued or not based on its participation in a particular flavor of religion or fealty to a particular interpretation of patriotism.
Enjoy the endless left turns and occasional wreck; otherwise it's much like watching golf, but with more melodrama and a whole lot more noise.

For crying out loud people!! Lighten up.
When Jeff Foxworthy said it people thought it was funny.
Now the naysayers and worms come out of the woodwork.
This so-called politically correct BS really ticks me off.
Have some fun. I hate to tell you that you only go thru this life once. No second chance to enjoy.
Should I keep my mouth shut and let these characters put gloom & doom in our lives? Hell no!! I can sound off (and have that right) just as much as they do.

This is just my personal opinion, but I find NASCAR racing rather boring. The cars are basically all the same and follow one another around the track lap after lap for hours. Give me a quarter mile dirt track for real racing.

Five 30-minute turns would be exhausting for most younger folks. What were you driving? I'll always regret I didn't try cars.
I took my Kawasaki to Barber Motorsports park in Birmingham in 2003 for a track day and had the time of my life. I roadraced in the late 70s and early 80s, so I hoped I could hold my own. In 2003 I was 56 years old and, to my knowledge, the oldest guy there. But I wasn't the slowest

Although I was not offended..perhaps open the post with I heard this funny acronym
about NASCAR and I bet there would have been less people that were.
I have been to over 100 races and you can bring in your own beverages route for
any one of 40 drivers and I have never seen a fight in the stands. Most NFL games have a fight
somewhere amongst people routing for the same team but maybe
they are mad about $10 beers
BTW: go to Talledega and the redneck part definetly applies...but so much fun.

I lost interest in NASCAR long ago when it stopped being stock car racing.
As for declining attendance; it's interesting that many of the tracks have seats in various colors that give the appearance on TV of crowded seats. You don't see that at Soldier Field or Yankee Stadium.

X2..
don’t follow NASCAR, but bet not many saying it’s not a sport couldn’t last 30 minutes on a track at those G’s. Did a GT350 track day at Utah Motosports Park & a guy in my class dropped out due to G sickness. Consider myself pretty fit & it was a workout!

My first time at Seattle was a rented Dodge Neon (front wheel drive). Surprisingly fast (well prepared) but more fun was my own 2000 Subaru 2.5RS (still have it).
